Hello lovely people. Was wondering what ideas you had for doing something around the jubilee? So far have thought of obviously dressing in red white and blue, kings and queens, bringing picnic with parents. Possibly punch and July show. Bunting. ????

Candlemas

I need to do a display for Candlemas - does anyone have any ideas? So far, the children have used their hands to print candles and have added finger print 'flames' - on black sugar paper. They have also done observational drawings of a church. Now I need to turn this into a display. My mind is blank at the moment - and displays are not my strong point!

Books, songs etc? We have covered by other classes, Italy, Fish, Carribean, bread and fairtrade.... I don't want to do Handa's surprise.... I think it is a bit hard at this time of year - prefer to do it in the summer. Thanks Jane

Hello its that time of year again reports.... I just wanted an expeienced EYFS teachers expertise....I am struggling to write the personal comment on the front of the reports for 2 children....as I have never had chn like this before and im sturggling to word it appropriately... The first is a little boy.... he mixes with the children but prefers to play alone... he is quiet at class time but when he has something to say to his teachers he will not leave them alone... he is very serious...and a very literal thinker.....smile at jokes... howver he is starting to he has OCD tendencies...in that he cannot fold paper it has to fit perfectly into an envelope and he…

Has anyone got any good ideas or websites for a quick and easy card to make for Fathers Day.? Also I just wondered what is other settings opinion was on making Fathers Day Cards? Every year we seem to have the same discussion about what to put on the front. e.g. do you put To Dad or To Someone Special? I know its all about knowing your children and their family situations, but it does get difficult when some children need to make two because they see both their dad and step-dad, but other children are only allowed to make one. Just wondered what everyone else does. Thanks for any comments.

Royal Wedding

I know this is a bit early but I thought I might get everyone thinking about the Royal wedding next year! I run the nursery class in a school and as a Foundation stage we thought we would have the 4 days running up to the wedding themed around it. Does anyone have any ideas yet? Not really sure what we are going to do as yet but I wanted to try and involve the parents too if possible. I'd be grateful if anyone has any thoughts on this. Thank you!!!
