Hi all For the next few weeks we have decided to do a topic based on the different countries of the world. This is based on the children's interests of maps, globes and planes! We thought about focussing on one country for each full day that we open (3 per week). Do you think that will be too many to cover over 3 weeks? Has anyone done this before with pre-school age children and got any top tips? We thought we could talk about how people live in different countries, the weather, the food etc. We are planning to make a topic book with the children to put in our reading corner. Any advice would be most welcomed :1b

Hi all I would like to set up a frozen themed role play area after Christmas but my mind has gone blank as to what I could put in it for the children to do. Some of our children are finding role play quite tricky at the moment so we would like to develop this. I have looked on pinterest but the ones they show, I cant see what the children can actually 'do' in them! Thanks in advance

hi all! i'm new to this page, so sorry if this is in the wrong place. Our topic after Christmas is Dinosaurs. We have lots of lovely ideas planned but my head insists on 'stand alone' lit & num sessions. Have MD covered but really struggling for CLL - reading & writing. We're a nursery/pre nursery setting. I would be grateful for any help or advice - thank you!

Brain not working again! I have been involving my nursery children in doing risk assessments; they have really enjoyed doing this and have their own clipboard with a sheet depicting simple pictures of gates, litter, 'sharp things' and fencing. They then make marks in the appropriate boxes (happy/sad face) and add their name. But now I am putting their work in their L.J. and cannot find an appropriate 'Development Matters' statement to link it to keeping ourselves safe - it must be there somewhere! Health and bodily awareness (40-60+m)? Obviously this would included mark making but I am particularly looking for keeping ourselves safe. Any help appreciated! X
