Hi there, I require a song about everyday technology - I'm thinking washing machines and phones, fridges and microwaves, but it doesn't conjure up any songs other than wind the bobbin up...any ideas?

Hello you lovely people, Does anyone know a suitable song we can teach the school at our assembly next week? It would be great to find a song with simple actions / lyrics that was about good behaviour or working as a team. I've tried adapting 'If you're happy and you know know it....share a smile' but the muse has left me. Help!

As a school we just made 7 story sacks based on traditional tales, these have been so successful that we are planning to making more based on popular childrens books such as bear hunt etc. Has anyone done something similar, hoping to find ideas of books and games that hold alot of scope and would appreciate any ideas Thx

Hi, I am due to have an art observation after half term and am looking for inspiration!! Our topic will be based on growing, although we will also be doing a bit of work on Space, due to things going on at school that week. I really want to use the outdoor area if possible (lovely space with hard area as well as large grassy space with trees). I'd thought of getting the children to take rubbings from all the different surfaces they can find...but don't really know how to start it off or what to do with them afterwards! Maybe make them into planets and stick onto black paper?! (Good job this term has only been 5 weeks - not sure my brain could have coped with any m…

Hi right I hope you can help me for my last week planning at the job I am in, I have run out of ideas. I have only 3 days left before I leave but I need to plan for Monday to Friday. I need to plan 2/3 activities for the 18 months to 3 years room and the 3 to 5/11 years room (which we are not even in that one!) I have 4 children aged between the ages of 18 months and 9 years old to plan for, with it being half term holidays. The topic is loosely based on weather and it is valenties day on Thursday so I need to plan for that day too. We seem to have limited resources being a very small setting with very little children in, no wonder I have run out of ideas. Tha…

I usually do an activity per week with my nursery children to develop their story telling skills but am running out of ideas. I have tried quite a few by Roz Bailey, such as the frozen teddy and the disappearing cake. Just wondering whether anyone has any tried and tested good ideas. Thank you!

Mother's Day

Hi! Tried a search but got an error message saying 'day' was too short a word and I couldn't think of another, longer way to say Mother's 'day' so came here instead We have children from 2 - 5 years and I'm looking for a simple song we could teach them as we are planning to invite the mums in at the end of one of the sessions. Also any tried and tested easy activities, cards etc would be great. We've done loads of different things in the past and I'd love to try something new. Thanks!

Questioning Observation

im being observed next week by the head and literacy co-ordinator. The activity i have planned involves children learning indoors and outdoors. They each have a walkie talkie. A child has to find the high frequency words hidden outside. They then have toread them to a child inside over the walkie talkie the child inside has to find the word from a group of words. When they have collected all the words they have to arrange them into a sentence. The focus of the observation is questioning. They are looking for use of shallow, deep and deeper questioning which will lead to shallow deep and deeper thinking. (the term they use on the obs sheet isnt deeper,i cant think what it …
