Ideas on hanging number and a-z line
by Guest- 6 replies

I work in an SEN school which is a brand new BSF school. I have various a-z, number and makaton symbol lines I would like to hang. I need some inspiration as I can't hang them on lines from the ceiling as they set alarms off, we have no flat free wall space as every side of the room has doors/outside glass walls/furniture etc. I don't want them flat on a wall as the children won't look at them or use them. The display boards are really high and can't be moved, plus we can't hang them below the boards as there is furniture underneath them. It's hard to describe but basically hard to make the room interactive and bright. Anyone have any ideas how to make thes…

Hi All We are planning to do lots of activities involving colours and making patterns after the summer break, as a lot of our children's next steps involve these. I thought of using the stories 'Elmer' and 'Rainbow Fish' but can you suggest any others? Also, any good ideas for these topics that work well would be wonderful! Our children are aged 2-4 years. Thanks :1b

Hi all I am doing doubling first week back after the holidays. I have not ever taught doubles before. But we are doing the topic minibeasts. I will get the children to make their own ladybirds and then we will double the amount of spots. I have some double jigsaws. I was thinking the children could make their own doubles dominos? I was after some more practical ideas. Could you share any that you have done in your own classrooms? Thank you SUnai

I'm not asking for ideas (just yet !) but our next theme is going to be around water. Before the holiday I asked my reception class for their ideas around the theme. They came up with so many I thought I'd share in case they inspired anyone else with a starting point. I've given them rough headings but there's probably lots of overlap. Where do you find water? ponds, lakes, waterfalls, swimming pools, taps, baths, hosepipes, rivers, sea, ice cubes, toilets, rain What can we do with water? drink it, swim in it, grow plants, paddle, play and splash! Creatures sharks, mermaids, fish, dolphins, whales, frogs, tadpoles, crabs, bull sharks, killer whales, lob…

Hi I am a bit stuck on books to follow a transport theme. Ideally a book where we could send a character of the book on their own, but different journey. Any ideas gratefully received. Skippy
