New Topic Ideas
by Guest- 10 replies

Ok, so as this half term draws to an end, I'm looking for inspiration for my topic for next half term which is sound and music. Anyone think of anything great that has really worked with their class? My kids are aged between 7 and 9 but working at anything from 3 months to 4 years in terms of development. Anyone think of any good stories? My mind has gone totally blank. I'm a musician, so we've got plenty of good ideas for that, but I'm just having a total mental block and thought I'd come to my great virtual resource bank and see what great ideas you guys have! Thanks, Nich xx

Hairy Maclary's Bone
by Guest- 4 replies

Hello there! The children in my class have all been given a copy of Hairy Maclary's bone as part of a reading project funded by a local charity. Few days ago, I received an email from the project manager asking me if they could come to school and film an activity based on the book which will be used as part of their promotional video. Does anyone have any great ideas I could use? Thanks

Number Puppies (galt Educational)

Hi, does anyone have this resource in their setting? We are thinking of buying it for ours but are not sure that we would get the use out of it. Any feedback from anyone who already has it, would be greatly appreciated as my setting is a charity and and we really don't have that much money to spend (especially on resources which may not live up to their marketing!!) TIA Sharon

Hello everyone! A few weeks ago I sent a post asking for some ideas about this term topic 'Transport' and one member suggested a link to a website which had a very detailed medium term planning about transport, buildings, toys and celebrations and festivals. I would be very grateful if someone could post me the link or address again. Thanks

Does anyone have any good ideas for number problems in nursery? Have done setting the table for teddys tea party but my brain has frozen! Also, we are making our own musical instruments from recyclable material and have the usual shakers made from plastic bottles and cardboard boxes with elastic bands stretched over them, but does anyone do anything different and exciting?! Thanks in advance!

Plants Alive Or Not Alive?
by Guest- 8 replies

This sounds really crazy but what does everyone think? Are plants classed as alive or not alive? Of course they are living but i was told they are not alive as they cannot move (eg get up and move) and don't have senses. Thought i was going bit mad as seems such a simple question. Looked on the net and it seems to not answer the question of alive and not alive. HELP!!!!!!Hope ofsted don't come when i'm teaching that one!
