I have taken over running a village Nursery, as it was very short of funding and looking at closing and also the running of it wasn't great. I have been out of the system for 3/4 years so I had never heard of the Stepping Stones. When I started the Nursery they didn't have any paper work only a register and accident book (it had only been running for a term). I have done the prospectus, policies along with the committee, and looked at sponsors who can inject money into buying resource etc., I have purchased (from my own money) paper and display material for the nursery so that it looks vibrant and stimulating and welcoming as before there was no displays!. Hi all! I have done "The Gruffalo" with home-made props. I used the scanner, printer, laminator ..... and wooden stirrers that I helped myself to (at MacDonalds). The result is attached. It went down very well with children - acting out the story was superb. Plus I had tracked down additional resources, such as a colour-in mask - see second attached image). While I have time on my hands, can anyone suggest any other books that would be well-done as stick puppets? Diane

Hello, Hope you have all had an enjoyable Christmas. I have really enjoyed the break but am beginning to think about school now, unfortunately. I was wondering if anybody has any ideas for a display based on the children's use of language in English. This is not my choice and has to go in the hall way so needs to look fairly decent. My brain seems to be devoid of any inspiring thoughts. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
