We're doing the book in a couple of weeks time and I'd like help with ideas of backwards activities. So far we've thought of emptying the water tray with syringes, sponges, spoons. Having a day wearing our clothes back to front. Starting the session with the end routine and vice versa. Painting with the 'wrong' end of the paint brush and going up the down and down the up on the climbing frame. We already have mixture of activities on the floor and tables. Any other ideas would be appriciated.

Hi our topic for this half term is 'out and about' - I have some ideas for journeys, however myself and the nursery teacher decided not to focus so much on holidays as lots of children don't have them and look more at our local area. Any ideas please?

Read on a few 'kindergarten type' websites, that if you glycerine to w.up liquid, you can make a great 'strong' bubble mixture. I have tried several times and failed miserably! Do any of you know of a good recipe for bubbles?

In B&Q you can buy bags of different coloured sand. Pink, blue, green and yellow (but that just looks like sand...Oh, maybe it was ) It's pricey £5.95 a bag but I bought one for the first week back, Hungry Caterpillar.

The children I work with in pre-school LOVE the sticky kids CD's especially the Funky Monkey, but I would like to find something different to do with them. I have seen a post titled P.E time for Nursery where "Action Kids" was mentioned. I have had a look at the site and wonder if anyone out there has had any experience of using any of the books/CD's mentioned or can anyone recommend any other books, tapes or CD's. Thanks in advance for your help, Gizzy

hello. My theme for next term is Winter. I have lots of ideas for activities to do with the children, but I wondered if anyone knows of any fun songs, and movement and action games along this theme. We are looking at penguins and , hopefully igloos, clothes and other animals in cold climates. Any ideas would be welcomed

Does anybody know the words to the rhyme that starts: I have ten little fingers and they all belong to me I can make them do things, would you like to see? I have used this rhyme many times before from a book I have on action rhymes, but cannot find the book or remember the rest of the rhyme. Alternatively, does anyone know any action songs about hands and what we can do with them? Thanks Jackie
