Hi, our local estate agents have just given us 2 puppets. Big ones, about the size of the average 2 year old. We can put our hands in their arms or their mouth and most of the children were really taken with them. I know I can use them for stories and general conversation but if anyone has used them before and has any further ideas I'd be very gratefull.

I found this and thought it might come in handy for some of you...….i'm sure we've all got a wooden train track but having played with it for 20 years I sometimes need some new ideas, this is full of them https://oldtracksnewtricks.com/ There is also a book and although a bit American it might be useful as a starting point. Our favourite activity at the moment is leaves on the line (autumn leaves in the small world tray with tack) and snow around the track with trees etc. but I did love the train ski slope on this site....just made me laugh!

I shared a short video showing this on the facebook page of FSF Addicts.. but thought you may like to see it here and give it a go.. Sorry cannot get the video to show here unless on Facebook then you can see here . How to Blow Frozen Bubbles Go outside when the temperatures are below freezing. The colder the better. Allow your bubble solution to cool before blowing bubbles. Find a place outside that is cold and protected from the wind. Blow a bubble and catch it on the bubble wand. Wait. The bubble won’t freeze immediately. Depending on the temperature outside, it may take a few seconds to a few minutes to freeze. When the bubble is frozen, touch i…

Hello all, I'm planning for our setting's outdoor environment and would like to lead an activity based on a storybook. I can only think of two suitable storybooks, The Gruffalo and We're Going on a Bear Hunt, but we have used those books already recently and I want to try something new. Does anyone have any suggestions? We are very lucky in our setting and therefore space and resources should not be a problem. Thank you!

Hello all, I'm hoping someone has a bright idea... I am currently planning some collective worship sessions and am looking for a story with a wedding in it. It doesn't have to be a religious story, in fact I'd rather it weren't. It's just a starting point. I'm sure there must be one but the only thing I can think of at the moment is ORT Stage 4 'The Wedding' which isn't quite what I'm looking for! Thank you!

Hi Everyone, This afternoon a parent brought in a bag full of Aquabeads. She's been using them with her two over halfterm and they look like great fun. She's given us a couple of packs as they were dead cheap to buy on Amazon. I really want to give it ago, but I'm a bit concerned about the safety aspect. Is anyone else using them? Are they safe for children to eat? What are they made from? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Water-Beads-Crystal-Wedding-Decoration/dp/B0082ZT2A4/ref=sr_1_24?s=kids&ie=UTF8&qid=1456153198&sr=1-24&keywords=aqua+beads Best, Alex
