Would like some advice/thoughts on how to move on from being a committe led community playgroup to the playleader and deputy taking over the running of the setting. Our committee are really not interested and have not been motivated for some time, we feel that we are being let down by them. We had an outstanding Ofsted 4 years age and they are due anytime, we want to maintain the high standard but feel we can't continue with this commitee. Has anyone on the forum taken over their setting? What does it involve? Any advice/help on how to do this would be appreciated Thanks

Hi all, We have our AGM tomorrow and I we need to update our Constitution as we are still running under the PLA 2005 one!! Is it just us in the dark ages? i'm thinking about updating to the 2011 constitution, just purely as we can have staff as committee members!! Can you tell Im not expecting many tomorrow?! Is anyone using a different constitution? we are members of the PLA and have their insurance but don't get much support or help from them. thank you for your thoughts

If you are making a change to staff contracts, as a manager do you get involved? or do you leave it to committee to do it? Do the staff work for the committee or for the manager? My contract states that I 'supervise the day to day running of the pre-school' I ask because we have had to reduce hours of all staff and because I was in the meetings some of the staff seem to think I'm to blame and it's causing an atmosphere, I'm wondering if I should've been involved in the meeting, although it is for the good of the setting it wasn't my decision it was committee.
