Suitable Person Interview

I just wanted to add a follow up on this as I had my suitable person interview last week. According to the lady, it is vital that the Chair is the nominated person and has had a suitable person interview. She was shocked that I had already been in post a year before anyone mentioned anything about this. I did point out that when a new chair fills out their EY2 this should trigger Ofsted to get in touch about doing the interview, rather than somehow expecting someone new to the post to realise they are meant to have this. The interview itself was really in depth and covered all the requirements of the EYFS. Luckily thanks to this fabulous forum I was perfectly p…

Crb Through Ofsted

Hi So sent in my EY2 form as new committee member. They have sent me back a CRB to complete. However it says that if I have obtained enhanced CRB disclosure through OFSTED within last three years and have supplied it to them I do not need to complete a new one. Does that mean I can just send copy of my CRB i had done last year for my new job as pre-school assistant? Thanks

Hi....just wondering if anyone has done this topic and has some bright ideas.... I am being observed my the senior leadership team and would like to impress... The focus for the week is on the farm as the children will be visiting the farm on the Thursday after the Mondays observation.. The SLT team members who are watching include the Literacy Co-ordinator and the EYFS 15+ years experience co-ordinator.. I would like to show the literacy co-ordinator that we do work,....and not just play and that huge progress has been made from the start of the year... has anyone got any differentiated ideas particularly in CLL....want to do something quite exciting but not sure...…

Hi all So when we get a new manager of school club what forms do OFSTED require? Is it EY2 which I have just done as committee member? What form is the health declaration one? Does manager also have to see Dr? I have just read another post and take it she ill be interviewed by OFSTED as suitable person. Anything else anyone can think of? I know once she starts we fill out EY3 to tell them the change also...anyone else feel like its a paperwork nightmare?? Plus anyone got any suitable interview questions? have had a quick look on forum already. Thanks

Nominated/suitable Person

Just wondered whether any other chairs have been asked to take over as nominated person and have a suitable person interview with Ofsted? It was always our leader who did this previously, but I have been forced into this via a letter from our LEA and Ofsted saying if the chair of committee was not nominated person, we could fail inspection. Personally I think it is madness seeing as chair would usually change each year. Also, anyone know what they might ask me about at the interview? I am up to speed on EYFS, policies, safeguarding (ish). Personally my opinion is that if I 'fail' the interview my leader can stay as the nominated person, that is absolutely fi…

Salary Scale
by Guest- 6 replies

Hi all, We've just managed to find a great new employee who was more highly qualified than we had anticipated. This meant I had to pluck a figure out of the air as to what we could offer her. To avoid this happening in future I would like to create a salary scale for our setting, the only trouble is, how do I do it? This is complicated by the fact that we will now have someone more qualified than the leader or deputy in a plain assistant post. Presumably it's a good idea to include: - Years with setting - Years of experience - Responsibility points - Level of qualifications I'd also like to include some kind of bonus for those who go beyond the ca…

Hi all Well was voted as general member for sons out of school club. Got first meeting 5 may and want to know what should we be doing initially. Is it a EY2 form and CRB check? Plus I think we have to inform charity commission. Anyone else we have to notify? Any info appreciated.

Just wondering if anyone knows whether the Finances should be submitted at a 'AGM' meeting that could be approximately five months early? It's just a thought as I thought the finances should be submitted anually. Spiral.

I Need A Rant

Had a committee meeting this morning, all going fine, agreed fee increase, budget, etc. etc. Then got to any other business. Committee member says she has something she wants to say. Starts to attack the way preschool is run (our lead practitioner was there, I felt awful for her). Complains about freeflow, not enough plastic toys out (we've been trying to move towards more open ended activities/resources), too cold in hall (because door open for freeflow), children don't know what to do, routine no good, why don't they line up to wash hands anymore, etc. etc. etc. I am officially spitting blood. I was very polite and told her freeflow is non negotiable. I …
