Furniture recommendations please...

Hi, I've just been asked to look at updating the furniture in the nursery. I was thinking an art trolley, computer table, shelves, chairs and tables but I'm not sure where to order from in terms of quality. I've looked at community playthings and they look good and durable with a 10 year guarantee but I'm not sure if there's a budget for this company? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

We have had a few children recently who, whilst settling in, have been playing and bonding, smiling and talking, whilst with us but been really upset at home. Could it be some processing of a growing awareness of one's world being bigger due to their cognitive development - or are we doing something very wrong?

Child development milestones poster

Contact a Family have produced a free booklet called "Developmental Delay - Information for Families" and there's a useful poster inside it giving key developmental milestones. I've put links to them below but you can also get free copies by emailing or phoning Contact a Family. I realise that every child is unique and it's not about ticking boxes but I thought there was some useful information here. Has anyone got a good handout for parents on the stages of drawing/mark making in early childhood that they care to share? I need something visual to help me explain to a parent that their child needs to go through lots of earlier stages before starting to represent objects!
