I got an email with this information in, today........ We are updating our online application system for childcare so that it supports the revised requirements for registration introduced by the Small Business, Enterprise and Employment Act on 1 January 2016. Our online system for childcare applications will be unavailable from Monday 9 May to Sunday 15 May (inclusive) whilst these changes are being made. This means that you will not be able to submit an EYO, CR1, EY2, CR2 or EYC form during this period and that you must submit any forms which are in progress before Monday 9 May. For those who haven't seen this yet, the White Paper was published immediately after the budget which announced all school must become academies or on route to by 2020. This will affect our EYFS colleagues working in the maintained sector, and who know how and if it will impact on the non maintained sector over time. It will also affect those of us that are parents/grandparents of children still at school. If you get the Nursery World updates you may have seen the headline about linking child benefit to take up of early years entitlement. In his speech he talks about the Baseline as not being of any use as it is not about each individual child, but a measure of the cohort. Watch this space then as it was his comments previously which gave us baseline in the first place. Cx
