Just felt I needed to share some very sad news. Some of you may already know this but sadly Ros Bayley passed away last Thursday evening following a short illness. Ros was an inspirational person whose passion and committment to Early years and quality provision for children will continue as her legacy through the countless Early years practitioners she came into contact with during her career. She will be very greatly missed.

Hi all, Just wondering what you all think of this - http://www.nurserywo...seryWorldUpdate It may just be me, but I could have sworn there was something called 'Birth to Three Matters', an excellent document, that was incorporated into the Early Years Foundation Stage in 2008. I'm sure Sue uploaded all the old documentation for us when it was announced with the launch of the new EYFS in September that we should all take special care to bear the BTTM framework in mind when working with under threes...... Any one else remember?? If so - why wasn't it mentioned in the Nursery World article, or been referred to at all? Do we really need to reinvent the wheel?

Hi all - The DfE has asked us to host a news and resources page for them, which will include items of interest to the early years community (for example, the recent release of the revised EYFS would have been made directly available to the FSF had it been available). We're happy to do this, and it will be available over the next few days. They have also suggested it might be useful to have a 'Questions and Answers' section where we (the early years community) can ask questions of policy and strategy of them, and they will endeavour to provide answers from the various departments responsible. To seed this with some initial content I suggested posting asking for qu…
