Dear Colleague, This website will be closing down in June 2011. The contents of the site will be moved to the National Archives where they will still be accessible. The first stage in the closedown of this site will be the removal of all ‘interactive elements’, including user log in, by the end of March 2011. These elements also include groups, discussions and the ability to track e-learning progress. Best Wishes The National Strategies Got this email today, shame, have found the site invaluable these last few years. Let's see what comes next.

What are we to make of reports that Montessori and Steiner qualifications are said to 'deemed invalid' once the new Level 3 qualification comes into force? You can read an article about it here.

On another note but possibly related, came across this which I dont think we had flagged up before Take up of early years places by disadvantaged families

hi everyone! just reading on here some of the posts concering the CWDC being axed... does this mean the funding (both the bursary and the fees) which is available for those taking the EYPS full time pathway will also be axed? tried looking on the CWDC website but couldn't see anything which suggested this will change. Does anyone know anyhting about this?? also, on a slightly different note, i'm planning to work as a childminder assistant when studying the course... does this qualify as an an early years setting?? thanks for your help!
