Hi all, I'm putting together a list of consumables and wondered what you all charge for apart from snack/food? We are full day care and parents bring their own nappies and wipes. TIA

Random! I have a set of parents who are separated , i didn't have dad on any documents but have recently added him. Dad has a 30 hour code for the child, but she does not live with him. Mum does not have a 30 hour code child does live with her. Can Mum use the 30 hour code allocated to Dad for his daughter?

Now the furlough is coming to an end and the new support for employers come in, The Job Support Scheme. Again if we receive funding for 2 and 3 year old we will only receive a proportion of this. What it doesn’t state is how do we work out the proportion as surely it can’t be based on our income in Feb 2020 again! Gov website states: Bodies in receipt of public funds Organisations that have staff costs that are fully publicly funded (even if they are not in the public sector), should use that money to continue paying their staff, and not use the Job Support Scheme. Organisations can use the scheme if they are not fully funded by public grants…

So the government have decided to give early years the same level of funding as Spring 2020 for the coming Autumn term, as a minimum - even if fewer children are attending. That is quite a relief as it will provide a bit of additional support once the furlough has ended whilst we try and build our numbers back up. We certainly are not looking to make any money out of this sad state of affairs but without this type of extra help - we would have been looking at a few redundancies and probable closing of a couple of rooms. How do others feel? will this help keep people going whilst we all work to overcome this?

I’m writing my EYPP report to show how the money has been spent but I’m not sure if I’m doing it right. How does everyone document how they spend their EYPP money? 🙂

So for the last 2 years we have implemented a 5 am/5 pm or 5 full day rule for bookings. This has worked quite well to protect our funds but we are now at a point that we would like to try and be more flexible with new parents I am considering charging a higher fee for doing less hours.....so for 3 sessions say £20 and then for 4 sessions £17 etc...has anyone done anything like this and have any info?

Can anyone clarify the rules on 30 hours for me please? We have a parent on low income who has been told by tax credits to get a job...she has managed to get 3 in order to pay for her bills. She assumed that she would get 30 free hours once she had a code but has now been told that the code will not be valid until September (by which stage her child will be at school!) I am confused surely this cannot be right?? That would mean if we were a year round setting that she could have to pay fees from april to September !!! When i've read the GOV info it really doesn't make it clear...anyone got any info????? (BTW LEA NO HELP !!)

Nursery World magazine is reporting that some parents are receiving mixed messages regarding their ongoing eligibility for the 30 hours funding. The requirement is that parents reconfirm their eligibility every 3 months and they should get a message from the government to remind them. According to the NW article some parents have been told they are eligible for a year and don't need to reconfirm and some haven't reconfirmed because they haven't had a reminder and so risk losing their funding. You can read the article here: Parents confused over reconfirmation of 30-hour place
