Hi - does anyone know what the general required notice period is for a setting to withdraw from NEF agreements or is it an individual authority thingy ? We are 40p less than stated....based only on 15 hours , that is circa £12k withheld from us per year.......double it for 30 hrs. Its hardly worth it any longer, other than to see childrens' progress.

Hello, I would like to enquire if any other providers whose parents are having difficulty in finding you as a childcare provider on the government's tax free childcare scheme website when they log into their account, especially new parents and how was this resolved. I have new parents signing up and not being able to locate us as a provider (have checked my details on the site and account all appear fine). Any helpful tips or advise would be most appreciated, especially as there does not seem much information about this and the governments website link to check childcare providers signed up to tax-free childcare is currently unavailable. (see link below) an…

You will remember the costs calculator that DfE provided recently. Various sector professionals felt that it was not an easy document to complete and lacked 'user friendliness'. Consequently, the Pre school Learning Alliance have written one that is more easily understood and completed. It can be completed and submitted to DfE in the same way as the the original document. If you have already filled in and sent off the DfE version, don't worry, you don't have to do it again! PLA cost calculator

My sister is struggling to find anyone to interview for her research project so I said I would ask you lovely lot! Over to Liz.... I am a student with The Open University and I am in my final year of a Social Science degree. As part of my end of module assessment I have the opportunity to conduct a research project which will involve interviewing two people about a particular social policy and its impact on personal lives. I have decided to research the impact of the funding gap in nursery provision since the introduction of 30 'free' hours and would like to interview nursery business owners, or managers. I live in North Buckinghamshire and would like to intervie…

If you are a BBC viewer or listener you cannot fail to have missed the Pre-school Learning Alliance (PLA) survey results on today's news. Following a survey conducted since the introduction of the 30 hours 'free scheme' the PLA have issued the following headline findings: Nurseries are making up losses by upping fees for younger children and charging for meals and nappies. Only a third of providers are delivering the hours totally free. Most providers said the hourly rates they were receiving from the government were below what they charged parents not on the scheme and failed to cover their costs. A fifth of providers thought they may not be fina…
