We have been invited to apply for the pathfinder project and have to make the decision to quite quickly. I understand the 15 hours entitlement etc and have read many posts regarding this, however most are from sessional settings, so the implications people are experiencing probably wouldn't affect me, such as opening hours etc. I would love to hear from anyone from a full day care setting who is on this project at the moment, and any pros and cons. Many Thanks

hi can anyone tell me how many wks funding they'll get for summer 08 and how they're getting around it , our county is only funding 13wks, as we have easter hols so early this will mean either finishing on 11th July (cant see parents going for that one !) or charging them all for a full wk to finish same time as schools (cant see them going for that either !)

Are there any authorities that limit the numbers of children that they will fund in the PVI sector? This is for a meeting with our LEA on Friday. I am especially interested in Tyne/Tees areas. Can a LEA limit the numbers legally?

Everything going well until Friday last. I own 2 nurseries in two different boroughs, both nurseries(private)doing really well . Numbers have picked up very well over last few months. One LEA paid the balance in February of the grant but other ALWAYS late. The Head of Early Years leaves the authority on Thursday and I receive a call from another private provider asking if I have received the funding due. The alarm bells started when he said there was going to be a shortfall in the amount allocated to the nurseries due to the increase in numbers of children going to private sector. The amount we have received is £200 PER CHILD short. Is anyone else having problems? We ar…

What has your rate of funding been increased to from April, 2008? In Dorset we will get £8.65, increased from £8.42.

Hi everyone, We have been told that the govenors have some money left over that needs to be spent so all teachers are fighting over it and we need to give our ideas the first day back of next term. I want to ask for new outside resources e.g. bikes, scooters etc. Does anyone know where I can get the most for my money for these kind of things? They retail at about £100 each and I think it might be a bit too much to ask for unless I can find an alternative! We are not allowed to know how much they have left over, it's just pot luck. Or does anyone have anything in there outside area that is cheap and the children love? Thanks Rachel xx

once funding has been allocated to a setting for a term can it be transferred to another setting or would you give the parent back the funding in a lump sum so she can use it in the new setting or can you do anything else?
