Had to chuckle at this email i had from our county today... I've got 47 children who I've got codes for... think I may be on the phone a long time!!! I'll be waiting for the checker! Do you have a parent with a 30 hours ID code and their written permission to validate this with the local authority? The Early Years Hub (containing the automated 30 hours checker) will be available in the next couple of weeks. However, if you want us to check the 30 hours code for you now so you can secure the child's place for September, please call the EYE team and provide the following details: The Parent NI number The 11 digit eligibility code [ DERN - Department for Edu…

I don't know if you have had any problems yourselves or if parents have come to you with difficulties but apparently there are some technical issues with the new website. Nursery World have looked in depth at the issues, you can read all about it on their site (this is not restricted to NW subscribers: Tax-Free Childcare runs into problems

Hi All, Is anyone else having difficulty signing up to TFCC because they are a registered charity and therefore have no Unique Taxpayer reference? We have received our letter with our user ID but cannot obtain a reference to complete the process. If anyone has had any luck registering as a charity I'd love to hear from you. Thanks

Afternoon all, Has anyone found a useful guide to help parents understand the 30 hours FEEE and tax free childcare? I am looking at creating a fact sheet for parents with a guide on how to apply but was being cheeky to save time by looking for something that may have already been created. If anyone can point me in the right direction I'd be most appreciative.

Our funding is being cut by 7.5% from 1st April in order to fund the 30 hours offer. (A bit previous if you ask me, 30 hours starts in September!) I am in the process of looking at increasing our fees but if I put them up by 7.5% this will price us out of the market I think. I read on another site that some settings are going to start charging for snacks, wipes, etc but this isn't the right way for us and, to be honest, wouldn't bring in enough income anyway. I wondered what others are doing? Are you increasing fees or not offering 30 hours? Or perhaps you are lucky and are not taking a cut in funding! If you are increasing fees, have you decided by ho…

I've always been quite flexible with places slotting families in wherever I can but on a recent 30 hours workshop the facilitator said he anticipated that being flexible would be a lot more tricky after September. My thoughts are that the traditional preschool client might struggle to find places moving forward. Has anyone thought about their admissions policy yet and how they might allocate places? I'm thinking that existing families get priority but beyond that I don't know. Is anyone going to ring fence places?

At present we only invoice those parents who pay fees or already use hours at another setting, should we be invoicing all parents even those who are funded?

Hi all, We are a preschool that from September will be offering preschool sessions between the hours of 9.00- 3.30, two preschool sessions and a 45 minute lunch in between. We have planned to offer 10 x 30 hour places from September. We have then gone on to work out many 15 hour spaces, 18 hour spaces and 9 hour spaces to ensure flexibility. However we also wanted to stipulate that some of these hours must include afternoon sessions and morning sessions, so if a child come for 9 hours, 2 p.m. and 1 a.m. session. Can we do this??? Is anyone else having this same dilemma or are we making it too difficult?? Thanks

I had planned to offer the 30 hours as: 8:30 to 15:30 with the parent collecting their child for the lunch hour or paying for the 1 hour lunch. But as the 30 hour guidance has just came out i have read this part: "Children should be able to take up their free hours as part of continuous provision and providers should avoid artificial breaks in the day wherever possible. For example, the lunch time hour/session should form part of the free provision where the child is attending a morning and afternoon session" So it says should avoid but doesnt say 'not allowed'.................... The guidance can be found at: https://www.gov.uk/government/publica…
