Hi I'm hoping someone can clarify this issue for me. Next year we have 30 children coming to our 1 form Reception class but we have a Deaf Learning Base which 2 additional children will be joining. In order to access the EYFS the two hearing impaired children will be joining our Reception class for inlcusion. This will take the numbers to 32. My question is, will another qualified teacher be required to join them or is an LSA sufficient? The guidance states: "Reception classes in maintained schools and academies are subject to infant class size legislation.43 The School Admissions (Infant Class Size) Regulations 2012 limit the size of infant classes to 30 pup…

Hi, I am new to the forum ... Am thinking at present about end of year reports and how this ties in with DM, characteristics of learning etc. It would be helpful if someone would let me have a look at a report...am still unsure about characteristics of learning as these happen naturally when chn are exploring and playing especially during child initiated activities

My head has just asked me to write the Early Years part of the school SEF .......for Monday!!!!! He is a new HT from overseas. I haven't written the EYFS bit for a while and certainly not since it all seems to have changed. He hasn't given me any headings, any direction....just said write about Early Years. HELP! Can anyone give me any ideas/advice/something to copy?

Hi, I'm working as a Reception Teacher in a mixed class and so don't really have anyone to ask for advice with EY things! The Early Years governor has asked to have a meeting with me to discuss the Early Years SEF. I must admit that it hasn't been my top priority so far this year and I was just wondering how often other people look at and edit their ones? Thanks x

Have never done either before and was wondering if anyone could give me some general headings to tailor an action paln for my setting?
