Wondering if anyone can tell me if you need to have a level 3 qualification to run an after school club for children aged 4 - 11 in a school? (it will be governor run) I seem to vaguely remember information about scrapping the need for a qualification (might be wrong!), but if you have children who are from Reception (and potentially Nursery in the future) wouldn't you need to cover the EYFS requirements of at least a level 3 manager?

Hi Guys. Here i am back to that old chestnut of planning again. We are beginning to develop a system of planning following the childrens interests,we are using the childrens suggestions & our observations to develop a loose weekly plan. The children are still able to take activities in their own direction or access other things entirely it just gives us a starting point. We are currently linking to the EYFS but we only have a few children in that stage my question is what do i link it too for the rest of our children who are aged up to 11? Any help out there? Thanks Biker

Hi can anyone tell me how they staff breakfast club and after school club?. Do you cover this with existing staff or recruit others to just do these shifts? How do you make this viable? At the moment we can only operate some of these shifts due to existing staff child care commitments. The village school does not provide breakfast or after-school club, so it is difficult for my staff to work the early or late shifts. We are not on the school site and are not connected to the school at all, although we are in the same village. At the moment we only have maybe one or two children that access the breakfast or afterschool club . The staffs wages are higher than the …

I may be asking a daft question here but getting confused!! We are due to start our after school club soon which will be led by a level 3 practitioner in our pre-school. We will be taking children from the local school (up to 9 years) . I am assuming that as we have pre-school children attending that the same rules apply for qualifications e.g. 1 level 3 + another level 3 (can I get away with a 2???) but presumably they need at least a child care qualification. I've just had a lovely lady apply who has a degree in Philology...but no childcare qualifications. HELP please confused.com sorry that is supposed to read Qualifications....didn't have my glass…

Hello all! As a Preschool ( committee run) we now run an OOSC at our local school. When it was in our village hall it was run under the preschool umbrella, now its at school it is classed as a separate setting and registered with ofsted even though we still run it. We don't have a written agreement with the school and since opening the governors have changed and what we initially agreed is slowly changing and its a bit like chinese whispers! I'm worried as now our committee is changing at the AGM. School want all our staff employment details and one of the govenors has rewritten some of our policies, the lines seem to be getting blurred over who is actually running…

Hi there, Has anyone been inspected recently? We just had an early years inspection but still no interest in our breakfast club or OOSC! The inspector asked when we were last inspected, I told her never and she made a note! Any thoughts?

I run a nursery within a school grounds and an OOSC within our adjacent primary school and I wondered if anyone would mind sharing how much they pay to rent the school halls etc? Is £2,400 a month excessive?? Any responses would be appreciated. Thank you
