Inspection Without Eyfs

We wre OFSTEDed twice recentlyand eventually got a satisfactory. Last year we had 10 EYFS. So far this year we have only one, who is dropped off by parents around 4 and picked up about 6 twice a week. So this prompts my questoin. How on earth would I have proved my capabilities with EYFS if that inspection had been when no EYFS were registered to us.

Help please! We have a child about to join our after school club who is likely to soil himself at some time whilst with us. The play leader has said that changing a child does not come into a playworkers remit. This child is 5 and will need help. What do you think?

OK how do I fill in all this stuff about how the children do EYFS when we do as little as possible? I got hold of a local authority (Essex) SEF form for after schools, which was a very cutdown version, very suitable, taking into account the fact that we are different. however, when we were inspected, she was very dismissive of the fact that that that was what I had submitted and didn't refer to it once, even though we had been led to believe that the Inspectino would revolve around what we had submitted in our SEF. we got 3 throughout, and I got the definite impression that you can't get any better unless you blow your own trumpet

Hi all Well to be honest I losing patience with OFSTED. Chair has received a letter today to say that our Manager is unsuitable as they she has not sent in a CRB form and that they have tried to contact her on numerous occassions. This has been going on for a year! Our manager has sent in 3 CRB forms (the 4th one going recorded delivery today!) and she has phoned them on occassions to chase her application/CRB up!! Do they know what they are doing over there?!! Here's to expecting an inspection any day now (4 and half years since last one!) because of this. Recruitment is not going very well....interviewed a level 3 experienced (works in pre-school) candidat…

Suitable Qualification
by Guest- 2 replies

Hi Had a lovely lady apply for position at school club however she is qualified teaching assistant level 2. I have checked the CWDC website and it states its not a suitable qualification (she would have to do NVQ). Seems silly to me as this is all down to wether she is suitable to work with early years when she has actually more suitable to work with the older children which make up a higher proportion of our users! So i a actually asking if that the suitability from the website is applicable to school clubs? (Got a feeling it is which is annoying as we need qualified staff) Thanks all

We are luck enougn to be moving to a new site in the local primary school after christmas. At that time we are also going to take over the breakfast club and start an after school club. Can anyone give me any advice about what this will involve with things like policies, planning, training, SEF etc? Or even suggest some useful information available from anywhere? The other problem is that the breakfast club is currently making quite a big loss so we need to find some way to make it more successful? So any suggestions about that would also be fabtastic. Jane
