Dear all So here I am kicking off a little Caption competition for CIN 2013 Over the next 24 hours myself and the moderating team will be adding some photos and would welcome your best suggestions for a suitable caption. The moderating team will be judging them and their decision will be final and any forms of bribery or corruption to influence their decision will be judged on it's individual merits frowned upon Prizes will consist of assorted FSF goodies and we look forward to reading your captions. If you wish to upload a photo of your own for members to add captions too please feel free all I ask is that they are suitable for all :1b Please remember that all thi…

Its that time of year again folks, and in time honoured fashion the forum mods and HQ have been squirreling away working out what we should do this year. Just this week, we have spent literally... minutes devising this years activities. So here's what you can look forward to: A Children in need story. We have done a few of these over the year and they are always funny, and you can dip in and out of it as you wish. A caption competition. You'll have to wait and see what that's all about! Some frivolity in chat. Ill be blowing up balloons this evening if anyone wants to help! Can we beat the previous record of how many people we can get in the chat room? An FSF ve…

Welcome to Children in Need 2012 on the FSF There are 2 threads running this year, a photograph competition and ‘Tell us a joke’ This is the ‘Tell us a joke’ thread and it is for everyone to contribute to spread some laughter. Please keep 'em clean but keep 'em coming because we all enjoy a good chuckle. As for the winners, the moderating team will be popping in and out and awarding ‘Spot’ prizes of FSF mugs, pens and pads for anything that amuses them during the evening. Next week the moderating team will examine the jokes and funny stories a little closer and the funniest or daftest entry as decided by the mods (and their decision will be final) will…

Welcome to Children in Need 2012 on the FSF There are 2 threads running this year, a photograph competition and ‘Tell us a joke’ This is the photograph competition thread and it is for everyone to play and contribute to. Just upload a photo of an everyday object that is either taken form a strange angle or only part of the object for members to guess the identity of the item. Here is an example; Then let the guessing begin and once someone has guessed the object correctly please post a picture of the whole item and confirm who spotted it first. So I'm going into chat in a bit for the now traditional Children in Need chat extravaganza. Some questions we need to answer"- How many people can we get in there at once? How long before it all goes a bit Two Ronnies? Who will bring the twiglets and cheese puffs? Has mundia been in there with the shake 'n' vac since the last minor indiscretions were committed? So if you want to find out more (and maybe win a prize or two - provided I can persuade Sue to unlock the trophy cupboard) then come along from 9pm. I'll be waiting there with a cup of tea in hand. Oh and if you need something to do til nine o'clock you can donate to Children in Need here:- …

Dear all I am sure some of you like me will not be in this evening and I didn't want anyone to miss out on the chance of winning some FSF goodies so my quiz can be downloaded and done over the weekend. So what's it all about; just a bit of general knowledge fun, well maybe not so general knowledge but findable fun for you to do over the CIN weekend. For those of you who didn’t know FSF HQ is based in Lewes, East Sussex and so there may be the odd question about our home town and a lovely place it is too! The prizes up for grabs are books and FSF goodies; 1. FSF mug & Pen and Promoting Children's Well-being in the Primary Years (Right from the Start…

So here we go - Children in Need 2011 has kicked off and it is time to start our traditional FSF extravaganza. To start things off, here is our CiN quiz. Unlike Sue's quiz, this is just for people taking part tonight, with questions being released at intervals during the evening. There will be three broad categories: previous FSF Children in Need Celebrations, Navigating the Forum and finally Avatars and Signatures. Every correct answer will gain one point, and I will be keeping a running total of all the answers given across the night. Extra points will be awarded for certain activities, but I'll make that clear as I go along. We have three sets of prizes to award…

So the Librarian clearly has a lot of time on his hands! He has designed a very clever, very fiendish 'spot the difference' competition for you all to take part in. Later this evening I shall upload two pictures with 13 slight differences for you to spot. There will be a cash prize - £26 (£2 for each difference) so I hope lots of you will take part. The winner of the £26 will be the first person to PM me with all 13 correct answers. So as soon as you've got all the answers, PM me. Good luck everyone. I'll upload the picture at some point after 8 o'clock - so keep you eyes peeled so you can spot when I've done it!

So, I think it is time to unleash this year's all-weekend-long Children in Need thread. Every year we try to beat the record for the longest thread in celebration of Children in Need. This year, in the absence of any better idea, we're going to tell a little story. The idea is that we will make up a story about Pudsey and his adventures, built up one word at a time. The twist in the tale is that we will tell our story in just one sentence, and will make the sentence go on and on and on for as long as possible. So think carefully when you add your word and try to keep the story twisting and turning for as long as possible! I'll start it off in a minute...
