Moving Furniture At End Of Year
by Guest- 10 replies

help! we have been told we have to move all the furniture off the carpet on friday so that the caretaker can carpet clean in the holidays. three rooms worth. i don't feel we should do it. what do you think? do any of you move stuff? we have 37 children so it would not be possible to do it in the session as they need things to play with, and it would be unsafe moving things round with them around. we could do it at the end, but staff are only paid for half an hour after and by the time parents have gone and gates been locked etc, there would be 15 mins or so. surely he could do it? or am i just moaning over nothing????

It has been a horrible day at school which isn't why I'm here but may mean I'm feeling unnecessarily anxious. I just heard today that as I have a YR only class for the first time next year I won't need to take them to assembly or out to play. Part of me is really pleased - I think it will be easier to run the day and better for the children. But... I often feel alone as it is - I'm the only teacher in school with any EY experience so no one else ever really knows what I'm talking about. Now I feel like I won't get to see anyone else at all (lunchtimes disappear in a whirlwind). Am I worrying over nothing? If any of you do experience this how do you deal with it?

Well, the builders have been in since Monday last week, so today we went in to take some of our boxes down for storage.... the place is AMAZING!!!!! I'm so excited, I'm on a real high! Before we've only been in with torches as the windows are boarded up, but now with new windows and the space... well it is mindblowing! We were also able to go in the courtyard garden for the babies and toddlers, can't really call it a courtyard as it is massive, with beautiful trees, a mix of patio and grass, even a walled area for the rabbits to go in! This is in addition to the 2 gardens at the back for pre-school and out of school! I can't wait for September. As soon as I have some pho…

I've always tried not to overly praise girls for their new dress/shoes/hair because I didn't want them to think that what you look like (and the kinds of clothes your parents can afford) is more important than the kind of person you are, and wondered if I was just being a bit prissy. This blog is an interesting read from a mother's perspective, and I wonderd what you'd make of it? http://inlieuofpreschool.blogspot.co.uk/2012/07/if-you-know-little-girl-you-need-to.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Yesterday morning I fell over just getting out of my car and I've badly sprained my ankle. I've also scraped all my knee and elbow on my other side to the bad ankle. This is the same ankle I hurt some 5.5 years ago and ended up needing surgery on. Crapola indeed. Just hoping I'm back at work on Monday and not off for 3 months like last time.

Yesterday I took delivery of £4000 worth of beautiful community playthings roomscapes as I am re zoning my preschool for the start of my 20th year as a practitioner. I moved 27 boxes and a total of 264kgs and I am loving the the new look but am now wondering what else I should do to celebrate. I am not sure that I want a party/gathering of any kind as seeing my old pupils will just make me feel older than hauling 264kgs upstairs has already done. Any suggestions for a suitable way to celebrate would be appreciated?
