Hello everyone, I'm trying to source a good quality magnetic paint for our new outside blackboard - the Homebase one hasn't worked even after 3 coats. Have any of you found a successful brand? Thanks as ever Sam

We were having our snack today when there was a knock on the door.................and in came a lady with an Olympic Torch for the children to see!! She knew we'd like to see one because she teaches netball to mums in the village and was showing her torch to them and one of them said.. 'oh, I know who'd LOVE to see that'.........................so, one visitor duly turned up ! She was brilliant, allowed the children to hold it, then take it onto the park to run with it and have thier photos taken with it too! absolutely lovely ( I even had my photo taken with it and I LOATHE having my photo taken!!).........nice start to the Jubilee weekend

Hi all I am a reception teacher of a school which is fed by a playgroup.(not under our jurisdiction) the playgroup has a newish leader who we are tring to build a relationship with. The playgroup come to us every week for PE and since the new leader they have been using a walking rope which has been fashioned with loops every so often for the children to hook their wrists into to walk to and from us. I have never seen this before and am quite shocked to see it-is it widespread use amongst Pre schools/playgroups? (reminds me of convicts chained together!) The playgroup used to come to us walking in pairs holding hands (they are not crossing roads or anything just a couple …

You know when you have a moment when you sit back and go whoo when did that happen! Well I had one of those moments today when I realised how much my staff team had changed in terms of confidence, hidden talents, and all the practical stuff that we take for granted! What are some of your moments?

I hope that you don't mind me adding this link but I'm sure that it is something we will all feel very strongly about and that young gilrs need protection from female genital mutilation. Please read this link and sign it if you feel that you can, to try to do something to stop this abhorrent practice. http://www.avaaz.org/en/petition/Stop_female_genital_mutilation_in_the_UK/?cl=1821700619&v=14523

OK - my son, his wife and their 1 yr old have sold their house and it will be a few months before they can move into their new place - they are all coming to live with us. Could be tricky space wise - although house is fairly big, it was built in the 60's and has only one bathroom! My other two sons pretty much come and go but still need their own bedrooms so my son and DIL will have to have his old bedroom and we will find space elsewhere for the baby! OH fine with all this at the moment, but likes his peace and quiet! I can feel the eggshells already cracking under my weight as I walk about preparing for their arrival on the 1st June. Of course I am delighted …

Am I the only one feeding into so many primary schools this year? 11 different schools for 30 leavers, means 11 visits into 11 schools, 11 different schools visiting us, 11 different liasion routines, 11 different transfer form expectations, 11 different settling in systems and children disappearing of to 11 different stay and play schedules. Add to that 7 school entry plan meetings in 7 different schools ( and more to arrange), roll on end of July!
