I have EYFSP moderation tomorrow - am not exactly bothered about it; have done it twice before and I know that I know my children. I'm doing a last update of learning journeys and evidence tonight so will probably spend the night worrying that I don't have enough evidence for the focus areas. No, the bit I'm really worried about is that last time I was moderated the moderation went really well but Ofsted called with their 2 days notice in the middle of it. The subsequent inspection wasn't great for me so not only did my 'moderation success' get lost in the Ofsted stress but there wasn't much positive about that week! Please keep your fingers crossed that Ofste…

Have you come across Ellie's Fund? It's a group near my daughter in Scarborough, and I thought some of you may be interested 1) Collect your empty baby wipe packets (any brand) and wrap them in a thick plastic bag or box. Fewer, bigger parcels are better; so if you and your friends/nursery are collecting, please think about sending one parcel between you. 2) When you have a parcel ready e-mail info@elliesfund.com and we will email you a freepost postage label. (Ellie's Fund is a small charity, this will save us postage costs.) Drop the parcel at your local post office as soon as possible – the labels are tracked and I am only able to download more once parcels ar…

What a fabulous afternoon I've had, been to Nottingham to watch Dancing on Ice - wonderful, probably their best tour I've seen, helped by being so close to the action. I'm not a Chico fan but have to say being so close to his amazing body as he danced to I'm sexy and I know it was an experience! Matthew was also amazing, and Dan was definitely waving to me! Can't wait for next year!

I feel a bit cheeky but I would like your advice on how you managed your work life balance when you had cancer. I was diagnosed last week and will soon be having a hysterectomy possibly other treatment depending on my MRI scan and so will be off work for quite a while. we are due an Ofsted at the beginning of Sept. just when everything changes Before my news I planned slowly implimenting new changes so that I and staff would be up to speed when they came. I will inform Ofsted of staff changes I have already re arranged rotas with the help of staff. What are the practicalities? I will work up until I go in I need to prioritise but dont really know where to start. I would…

Morning all. So, today I am due back to work after a 6 week break where I had major facial surgery to remove a tumor that turned out to be cancerous. It has been a very tumultuous time with emotions high and low and whilst I know I am so very lucky to have the all clear following my body scan, I dont think I have come to terms with the fact that I had cancer yet. . . . . I think because the relief that the cancer was not anywhere else in my body was SO HUGE my mind has been full of thinking I havent got cancer and in fact on closer thought I know I haven't accepted that I had cancer. I think it may take a while to work through that one. Anyway today, shor…

I'm hoping someone can help, because this is driving me mad... I was drinking cocktails yesterday and I'm certain there is a line in a film, possibly James Bond? where the man says... 'and a daiquiri for the lady'. My friend didnt know what I was on about and neither did the bar man. So help, please, because my friend thinks I dreamt it.
