My 15 year old daughter has a 'friend' who is at present living with foster parents (real mum only 14 when she had him), they are all going out in about a weeks time to an under 17 night at a local club and my daughter has asked if I could drop him home afterwards to his real mum's. Now I haven't met either parents (foster or otherwise) and my daughter doesn't understand why i am hesitating with this request! Obviously my line of work makes me more aware of legal responsibilities etc and if I wasn't in Early Years would probably not given it a second thought!! So what would you do? Kris

Well after a lot of hassle with my ex-chair last year it seems although now 'gone' she can still dig in her oar...she has complained about a ‘lack of structure’ / supervision (because of a slight accident)...which is one almighty assumption as she never ever attended a session to see anything...but that’s by the by...now I feel like I'm stuck in a time loop because the new committee (with some old members) are again questioning the whole 'free play', free flow, amount of adult led activities etc. It has been suggested is that we each take our group for focused activities for an hour a session (say 9.30 to 10.30) ...either indoors or out (in which case the other child…

Joining The Fsf As A Setting

Is there any way of joining the forum as a setting? I seem to be spending a lot of time passing info I have found here onto my colleagues. I just wondering if there was a subscription whereby they could log on with a setting log in rather than as an individual?

Just wanted to tell everyone how I feel finishing a friday being told I was suitable person to manage my setting , I have only been in the job a few weeks and it's certainly been a challenge so far and despite everyones faith in me and the great feedback , I could not help but lose a few hours sleep worrying about interview today. The lady was fab , very encouraging and helpful and really put me at ease, her parting words were 'great to see someone with so much enthusiasm' - not blowing my own trumpet here but just wanted to say WHOOPEE !!!! Have a fab weekend everyone , i sure am !!
