ok having a frustrating day. I have just had a visit from a school where two of our children will go in September. During the visit the teacher took out an exercise book and asked both the children to write their name in it (with a biro!) I was not asked if they could do this and both children looked rather shocked to just be confronted in this way. I had also asked them to monitor the way they spoke about school as lots of ours are getting a bit worried . So she starts the conversation by saying i'm Mrs X i'm from your new BIG school...you'll be coming to us in September!

Just appalling weather here today The Community building that I operate from is relatively new but is 'leaking' like a sieve.......actually it is more that the wind is blowing rain in through every door. have spent so much time mopping up and strategically placing buckets and bowls wherever needed..... Carpet in the foyer is absolutely sodden despite my best efforts Frustrated with a couple parents who had also been on the school run their children were soaked so I said "shall we get the spare clothes from their bags" - much muttering then which amounted to "oh there aren't any spares, I forgot to replace them"......good job I have plenty then! Also fr…

No matter what our opinions are on the battle to keep Alfie alive, his father's moving post on social media touched my heart.

So hopefully myself and my husband are off to Rome and Venice at half term. We are making the trip by train as I will not fly! Does anyone have any recommendations for hotels in both cities and any “must do, must see” ideas? 🇮🇹

Oh my goodness has anybody just watched DIY SOS? What a loving family and what a terrible condition to have to live with. We heave both just sat here in😭. Just humbled by the girls stoic bravery and have such admiration for what a lovely young man the brother was. Just hope that her future is now brighter. It really goes to show how much we all take the simple things for granted.

My god daughter is up for British Wedding Retailer of the Year Award for 2018. Unfortunately the vote ends tonight, but if you feel you would like to vote for her, I know it would be very appreciated. The name is Victoria's Bridal Boutique. Vicky is 32 and very hard working and goes that extra mile for her brides. She started as a Saturday girl in one boutique and has had her own shop for a few years now. Her customer service is impeccable, we were all so proud of her when she won the County Retailer of the Year a couple of weeks ago, and this has triggered her entry for the latest award. Click the link to vote but as usual prepared to leave your name and address…
