For me this is definately not a lounge topic but is there anyone who can solve this equation for me. I am in my final part of getting my GCSE maths and really have trouble with algebra. X squared plus 3 x - 5 = 0 also 3x +2y=3 and 5x-y=-8 I really am trying to understand it but could not do it at school and still cant. Why oh why do I need to know this to work with 3-4 year olds. Any help greatly appreciated. Buttercup

Hi, I think I already know the anwer to this question but... At school we have an after school club, one of the ladys who works in their is a parent of a child at the school who therefore attends. last week i was talking to a teacher in the classroom where a.s.c was happening. This child wasn't sitting on his chair properly and as the parent was walking past him she smacked him (on his bottom) to get him to sit down. it wasn't hard/malicious etc, BUT what would you have done if you'd seen that? Im loving my kindle, take it everywhere with me! But I'm having trouble finding out page numbers. Ive just signed up for an MA, so Im doing all sorts of reading on it, and of course if I quote anything I will need to ref the page number. But at the bottom of mine I only get a % sowing how far I am through the book. Does anyone know how to change this for page numbers please? Im reading 'Nurturing Natures: Attachment and Children's Emotional, Sociocultural and Brain Development ' by Graham Music at the moment. Its fab, very readable!

Can you help with this? My son wants a freeview box in his room now our area has switched to digital, but I've looked on Amazon and been completely bamboozled by the choice and the reviews. If you've got one, what make is it, does it work, is it easy to install, has it got a fair few channels and was it under £50? Bamboozled is a proper word, no squiggly red line underneath like there is when I type freeview. I just thought it was strange and I should share
