Hi Everyone, I have been off the forum for over a year! I don't know if anyone will remember me, but I have never forgotten this place. I used to run a pre school and in the last year I have completed my Ba(Ed) in Teaching (2:1). Next week I am due to start as the manager of a new, very large all day nursery, which I am thrilled about. So I will be on here, like I used to be...all night long lol.

As some of you may know I have a comical budgie. This is the thread from back in 2007: http://eyfs.info/forums/index.php?showtopi...6&hl=budgie Well yesterday after ill health recently, we decided to put it out of him out of his misery by going to the vets and putting it to sleep. He was 11 years old (normally live 7-9 years old). We are sad that hes gone, but happy that he's finally at peace. The funny part we thought as a family was that he costed £5 to buy and £20 to put him to sleep. Today has been very strange. I have cleaned out the cage. Every now and again mum and I have been wanting to talk to this empty space. I am sure we will get used to it.…

Having been to see the new Harry Potter film, I have been considering how Ofsted would react to Hogwarts! Although, obviously an inspiring school in many ways, I feel there are a few things that might cause officials a bit of a problem... • Inclusion - This is generally good as people with special talents and distinctly individual appearances are all more than welcome. However, there is a whole section of the community who are not treated so well. That is the students of Slytherin who are housed in the dungeons and generally reviled by all others in the school, staff and children (lots of cheering when they lose out on anything). However, their parents seem to have…

I often read 'quotes' at the bottom of your posts with interest. I am looking to update and expand the quotes on my parents' noticeboard. Does anyone have any other interesting, funny or profound quotes I could include? Some I use are: 'Coming together is the beginning, keeping together is progress, working together is success' Henry Ford 'The greater part of our happiness or misery depends on our dispositions and not on our circumstances' Martha Washington 'When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which opened for us' W S Churchill Any thoughts? And can anyone tell me …

Hi everyone, After a year off to have on Maternity - getting to know my beautiful baby daughter Ava, it is finally time for me to go back to work ( :(  As you can see from my smileys I'm not really sure how I feel right now - but I think they sum me up!) Anyway I used to come onto here a lot - initially as a paid member and then taking advantage of the my County Council (Suffolk) buying into this fab resource! didn't always post but have a vague memory of when PRAMS was first posted on here - I kept thinking that looks good must get my head around it, now it looks FAB! I am a Nursery Teacher and will be going back part …

hi, in the past we've bought large 5 litre (?) bottles of readymix paint in primary colours. These have a pump on them so children can go and help themselves if this is their preferred medium. (We have powder, watercolour blocks and acrylic etc too) We've run out of red so I need to find a stockist. I used SBS in the past but just looked on their site and couldn't find any. Does anyone know of a stockist, before I spend time (that I should be doing something else in) trawling the internet?

Ok here goes; I have been somewhat unhappy in my current position for some time now; my new boss I feel is trying to make life difficult enough for me to leave (her favourite expression is "manage them out"). This came to a head 2 weeks ago when I was accused of not doing things, which I either had done, or had no idea I had to do. I was then, in the same week accused of something else which turned out to be a complete lie. It all got too much for me, I decided I needed time off to re-charge my batteries so I was signed off for 2 weeks and also prescribed mild anti-depressants. I am waiting for an appointment to see my union rep as I am thinking bullying and constructive …
