Unfortunate family circumstances mean I have one adult day ticket for the WOMAD festival this Saturday for sale. The location is sunny North Wiltshire (Malmesbury) The original cost was £65. Here's the catch: There isnt time to post it so if you are interested you will either have to collect from me, or arrange a meeting point at the venue. I am advertising this locally too as I really dont want it to go to waste. Please PM me if interested.

Well, today we started replacing the windows at Preschool from old chapel leaded windows to double-glazed units. Unfortunately we found a nest of white tailed bumble bees in the wall cavity! We quickly put that unit in place, although they weren't happy about the drilling etc. Now my question is, I know that only the queen survives the winter, but will she go somewhere else to do that - can I seal the hole up after the frosts have begun? I can see where the hole is on the outside. Steve - you are a fount of knowledge about bees - what do you reckon?

Short of stapling each letter we send home to the child's forehead can anyone give me a method for communicating to parents. I currently email, put hard copy in a file they are supposed to check every session, put another copy on a board - This Week's Letters - and write reminders on our daily notice board - yet still they say they do not know about events. Graduation today - some turned up for normal session - others went to the wrong place - I despair!!!!

Hi everyone! Does anyone out there keep llamas? We now have two llamas (as of four weeks ago) to keep our goats company, though mainly to protect our chickens from Mr Fox!

It talks about that mum who is spotted likes lots of spotted things Dad likes stripes and the little boy likes animals they then go to the zoo and the little boy likes the elephant best. Does anyone know what this book is called?

Today is the last day for the children at pre-school (party tomorrow!) and the last day we will be in our current building... after21 years and 12 years of me working there. I have been so busy sorting out the new build (still haven't done loads of paperwork) that i have definitely not really thought about it but i think it is beginning to hit me(about time i hear you say ). Very wierd...getting excited about the new project but feeling very sentimental about the old.....so many memories! i stupidly named the party magic moments and spent last night looking at photos...bad idea thinking of you all at this time of year...sentimental old fool that i am

In light of the different advice we're given regarding plasters and the post by Sam2368 about tarpaulins I wondered what the most silliest or mind boggling thing you've been told in Early years is. The silliest thing I was ever told was that the bikes with pedals were only to be ridden by children who knew how to pedal, as the ones who didnt know yet, would catch their ankles on the pedals. They were only to go on the push-alongs. I have loads more but that one caused me to stand in thought for longer than any other.
