Just so as not to hijack Sue's Eurovision thread, is the sand artist's story of the the German Invasion of he Ukrain. If you've never seen it before, take a few minutes out, even better if you turn the music up! See what you think..

Just had to let out the news, our first grandchild has arrived and after so many boys in the family we have a darling little grand daughter, called Ruby Mae, born this evening at 9.20, 7lbs 14oz. to say we are thrilled is an understatement.

Here's the background....I care for a 6 year old with global development delay, who attends a special school. He's repeating year 2 as the school say they have concerns about his behaviour, which they feel is affecting him academically. His annual review was held in January and his IEP sent to his parents. It has exactly the same targets as the one dated Sept last year but WE (myself and his parents, and the parents I childmind for, who all teach) can see the progress he has made. We worked hard with him over the holidays last year to encourage him to mark make and by his return to school in September he had, for the first time, written his own name. All of this was r…

Hello everyone, I have a friend who is due to go on her first ever school residential trip (with Y6 children) and I want to make a silly survival kit. The ideas I have so far: ear plugs paracetamol emergency chocolate (you know you can get some that is actually packaged as emergency chocolate) map paper aeroplane/balloon/picture of a carrier pigeon - there's very little mobile signal where they're going. Has anyone got any other silly ideas - I'm planning to wrap it all up in something like a Ben10 bag/box (he has adventures too or maybe Dora?!) and add an explanatory note to each thing. Just think it might ease any tension or nerves a bit. Any i…

Just for a laugh: Friends are like knickers....Some crawl up your arse...Some snap under pressure...Some don't have the strength to hold you up...Some get a little twisted...Some are your favorite...Some are holey...Some are cheap and just plain nasty...And some actually do cover your arse when u need them too. Makes me laugh and I can put names to some knickers!

I have taken my very elderly mum out for lunch today (she will be 90 in October) she told me that she had been having a conversation with one of her 'neighbours' - mum lives in 'sheltered housing'..... This neighbour had been telling mum that she constantly worries about things - anything and everything.... Mum said to her - "oh I don't worry about anything at all......if anything goes wrong I just tell my daughters and they sort it out for me" Isn't that lovely!
