What Time Is It?

This morning, I turned on my laptop and thought I had gained an hour! My laptop time was an hour behind the BBC! This also happened to my ipod earlier this week too. When I chnaged the settings and timezone (was in the London category already though) I still had to change the clock by an hour. Anyway, I posted a reply on here and did a double take when it said it was 9 o'clock (but is really 10 am ). Anyone else finding the time anywhere an hour behind? Would be nice to have an extra hour though!

My brother and his girlfriend have split up and they have a 2 year old son. It was my brother choice to leave and while we all appreciate it couldn't have been easy we are all concerned at his son, my nephew who is 2 in June. Since they split (a week go) he is refusing to eat and is instead just drinking coupious amounts of milk this in its slf has got us hugely concerned. We get on well with my nephws mum and hav made it clear that we are all there for them both. However my nephew is really struggling to adapt to the changes and instead sits night after night at th door crying for his dad. He is also preventing very challenging behavious to mum. He has took to biting…

Dear all - I have an old college friend who has left London and I still have 3 cardboard boxes of her books, photos and some other miscellaneous stuff that I stored for her when she was re structuring her life. She now lives in Cumbria! As I now need the bit of space where these boxes are I need to work out how to get it to her because neither of us can accommodate driving to or from each other at the mo cos of jobs. Has anyone got a cost effective suggestion as to how I can get 3 largish boxes delivered/couriered.....................? Ta. Cx

Hi, I'm after a little bit of advice really. We have a parent who drives her children to the pre-school (children aged 2 and 4). It's been brought to my attention that she isn't putting the children in car seats. What should I do? I've previously sent home car safety leaflets and apparently the previous Chair has given this mum a car seat so we know she has/had at least one seat. Also she was saying today about all the toys she has just bought for her garden so it doesn't sound like a cost issue. I know I need to speak to the mum but what happens if even after our chat she doesn't use car seats? Does my duty of care mean I shouldn't be releasing her children? I know…

Well ladies, been to two nurseries today and actually shed a tear with relief at what I encountered. There are good practitioners here in NW after all!! All Ive to do now is to work out which setting is going to be financial viable for me. Unfortunately will have to find some pennies after funding grant , but dont mind as figured Ive earned a break for study over the last ten years of motherhood ! Lovely to see people whom care and doing what they should be. Feel very tempted to tell my "friend" at the other establishment to do a little setting visiting of her own to see for herself. The difference only made me realise how bad the other setting was. Funnily e…
