One of our little girls brought a sheet of stickers in to pre-school today - she proceeded to stick one on each of the children....... At home-time one of our girls was collected by her grandparents......she rushed off out of the door saying..... We had an odd letter in this morning's post. Apparently we have booked an advert at a cost of £195 (who are they kidding) in a publication called fire prevention fiscal wallplanner. The letter included a proof of the 'advert' which used some very old details. It says cancellation must be in writing within 7 days otherwise the proof will be deemed correct and publication will proceed in accordance with the proof. The company is Townsend Associates based in Wirral Anyone else had anything similar? We haven't booked any ads, have never heard of this company and if I type the address into google it is a completely different company.

Hi all Me and my friends are thinking about organising a fund raising event to help raise money for Japan. We are thinking of hiring a huge function room and charge people £5-£10 to get in and then during the night have different entertainment and games/raffles etc as an incentive for people to come. Some of my friends work for T4 and other television production companies so they are trying to get different performers/stand up comedians etc to come but we are struggling to think of other types of entertainment/games/raffles etc that we could do. does any one have any ideas or words of advice that would help?????????// thanks kate

In true guiderstylee, yes I am a brownie/guide guider and a member of a guiding forum (this is what we do when we organise things or should that be attempt to do so! ). Since a certain lovely lady named Happymaz hasn't done this thread I would start it. In chat last night I mentioned when the show is for next year. So here are some details: The Education Show at the Birmingham NEC is between 15th to the 17th March 2011. We are thinking of meeting up on the Saturday 17th March, time to be confirmed. I've just got back from the show. I didnt find the cafe until 11.30 and no-one was there. I was wearing my FSF badge but couldnt see any others so I missed meeting everyone. Really sorry, hope everyone had a great time and your feet arent aching anywhere near as much as mine are. Spent loads of money, managed to find a princess finger puppet with a blue dress rather than pink for the George and the Dragon story, was disappointed at the lack of free stuff compared with previous years and amazed at one fundraising stall that would give us £1.00 for every £5.00 they received - some fundraising eh? £12.00 for 2 chicken sandwiches and 2 coffee's too.
