I was sitting in the car at 9pm tonight waiting for my son to finish work when a young girl in school uniform and clutching a big bag went past me. I tried to watch her in my mirror but couldnt see her so I reversed and saw her sitting in the bus stop crying. I asked if she was ok and she shook her head, my son arrived just then and asked if she wanted to use the phone. It turns out she'd run away from home, she was 12 years old and had nowhere to go. My son phoned her dad who dosnt live close. He told the girl to phone the police so we did. They couldnt send anyone out because they were busy and anyway mom had just reported he missing so they'd told her where she was.…

Hi everyone, This post has nothing to do with children!!!..... But I live in Cheshire and my son is getting married in August in the Colchester/ Clacton area of Essex neither the bride or groom live in the area. The bride has the use of a holiday home in Clacton to prepare herself and 3 bridesmaids for the ceremony, I am wondering if any of you who may live in that area know of a hairdressers that they could go to to have their (long) hair done for the wedding? If you do please can you send me a message? Many thanks Julie

Hi all Well i have not been on line for a while (Computer broke) so have missed chatting to you all. As some of you will know I am on the last part of my FD I have a problem my ECA for E215 is due but I am just not managing to get my head round it. I failed the last TMA but could still pass the course if I knew what I was doing (aargggh) do I withdraw and admit I can not do it or should I stress myself out even more and send something in for the ECA and retake next year when I fail? The problem I have is that I need to have this FD to go on and complete BA and EYPS and have funding and job deadlines to meet to gain the qualification. I am now at the stage where I could…

Now I live in the country - with a field with three horses and stables behind my house - but today, for the first time ever ........ I saw an enormous RAT in my garden - horrid great fat brown thing - sorry if there are any 'rat lovers' reading this! My heart was beating so fast I thought it might leap out of my chest! Don't know what to do now - I feed our large hedgehog colony - or whatever the collective noun is for a group of hedgehogs - herd, flock, swarm ...........! Anyway that's what the vile thing was eating! Just thought I'd share! Sunnyday

Hi, I'm currently in the process of opening a playgroup (2-5yr olds) and have been looking at the dream town toys available from places like argos and ebay. Have any of you ever used any of these products or got any advice on whether or not you think they will be suitable for use at the playgroup? Thanks

I just found a lovely bit in a book from the library about managing change which links to ECM guidelines. I thought to myself that the website was worth a look as it has a managers tool kit for managing change and it would help me finish my personal learning section for task 1. Well, what do you know! When I got there....the cupboard was bare. The ECM website is now in the National Archives!! The new Government will be making announcements in the next few months. Well I don't have a few months so back to the drawing board!!! (I did manage to get a actual real paper copy of the EYFS from the library as well) Rant over
