So this is the conversation between me and my 12 year old grandson when I picked him up from the school bus today....... GS: I haven't got any homework tonight nana because it was our PHSE day Me: oh right, cool, and what did you do for PSHE? GS: Sexual relations Me: (thinking oh heck, wish I hadn't asked) Oh right, guess that was quite interesting then.... GS: Quite rude really nana - in the first lesson they used the 'c word' Me: Oh that's not nice is it GS: Ah no not that c word Me: Oh right, well I don't think that I need to know which c word is was.... GS: No, you really don't Anyway this conversation went on and on and round and round - despite my b…

Hi there everyone. i'm being observed weds for an hour teaching rec. And we will be focusing on Goldilocks and the three bears. I ran this post earlier this evening and got some really excellent ideas. Now the thread I started, has disappeared from the right hand side column on the homepage, and not sure anyone will revisit it, so…..just wanted to run this past you to see what you think about this lesson obs idea. What do you think of the idea of getting my reception chn in a small grp, to make a new chair for baby bear? or getting them to think about the three chairs/beds and make in the creative area. They will need to think about the materials they would use. ie ha…

Bonjour ma petite Clouseau's !.....following on from the successful hunt for Tactilo ( I eventually found one on ebay for £7.50!!), I am now searching for another piece of equipment.....this one has, if I recall correctly, nine plastic boards: red, yellow and blue. Each board had 6 different tactile squares, and each boards shapes were different..squares, triangles, circles. Anyone know what I'm talking about?? What is it called??? Oh and bargain buy of the last week? TWO CP chairs for £10.50! Advertised as 34cms high, we thought they'd be perfect for the children.......but when we went to pick them up, they are actually the 43 cms ones, so perfect for the adults or b…

Hi everyone - just wanted to see what you wise people all think or if anyone has had to deal with this before. We are a private nursery. Sorry it's a bit wordy! We have a parent who often comes to pick their child up at 5.20. We are open til 6.00 and the parent has booked til' 6.00. This child is often the last to be picked up which is no problem. The parent wants to chat with the staff about anything other than her child often until 6.05. They have tried to be really polite and chat but then have concerns with the child. We think she feels a bit, well I've paid til 6 so I'll stay and just chat to you etc. and may well enjoy the company, chat etc. Th…

Neff Electric Hob - It's Melted!
by Guest- 6 replies
Well, we inherited the hob with the house and up to a month ago I had the manual - can't find it anywhere now! So I have no idea of the model number and can't find the image anywhere online. Last night I took a tray out of the oven and put it on a warm (cooling down) ring. Hour later washing up I took the tray off the hob and a hole has been created- the glass has melted! But the bit that's missing is stuck to the underside of the baking tray so not really melted?. See photos. I don't know if the ring can be used now. I assumed the hob was heat proof! I am in a muddle - has anyone out there ever had their ceramic hob melt?
