Hi, I am wondering how other settings manage to have water available at all times for children. ie self service and also snacks. How does water not get spilled? How does this work when you have lots of 2 year olds. Any advise much appreciated. Happy New Year :-)

With the government stating that almost one in 10 children starting reception are overweight or obese - I must say that I have not seen this myself. However, as we don't have many reception age children, I'm asking you. I would do a poll but don't know how. I certainly don't see the one in 5 in year 6 but again I don't have a very big sample. as far as I can see it is like most statistics and would require there to be at least one school somewhere with the majority overweight. AND The Sun hasn't found it yet!!!

Happy New Year to you all!!!! 2011 already eh? So to start the new year off I am asking for any thoughts re theorists who have paid particular attention to sand and/ or water play! I am doing a presentation in mid Jan re sand and water play and making it more adventurous and I wanted to include some research or some thoughts from someone other than me!!! I thought I would start the new thread this year. Last years here! 2010 goals where: *Finish ALQ for Feb 1/2 term! Yes but took until May! *To gain a GCSE grade C or above in English, plus attempt a C grade in Maths BUT be happy with a lower grade! YES! English A BUT still happy with maths D! *To just enjoy work! Would have loved to, if I hadn't been attacked by ear infections!!! *To attempt to gain a place on the BEd (Hons) Education without QTS. Building websites drives me crazy! I can never choose the colour I want or the font style. I have been told by many that GBBO and Google sites is very good and easy to use. I have now registered a domain name hoping that the building options would be plentiful when I clicked on a few more pages, but no. If anyone has used the GBBO (Get British Business Online) route I'd be grateful for some help! Why can't building a website be like using Microsoft Paint? Just click and drop the colour where you want. ppp
