Oh dear, what a day. Various things have happened finishing with someone stealing my handbag from the pre-school office. I'm absolutely gutted and hoping that it miraculously turns up tomorrow. All cards cancelled, driving license sorted, police rung. So sad as it must be a member of staff, we have had a few things go missing, including our children in need money, but put it down to someone who shares our hall, but this can't be the case.

Eyps

Does any one know if we employ an EYPS how many hours they have to do. Do they have to be on the premises the whole time you are open or can they be part time and work just a few hours? We are looking into employing an EYPS between a group of us pre-schools as we can't afford to have one each. We are all pre-schools and owners that are to old or don't want to do the EYPS. We also don't have staff that want to go on and do the course, so we felt that if we had one person split between us we could afford the wage. We haven't been able to find anywhere that says how many hours the person has to do. So if anyone has any info it would be appreciated. We are looking to …

Just got back from another marathon round of putting posters up to find he's back. Neighbour from 3 doors away and her builder found him at the top of her stairs. Bought him round minutes before I got in. Lads didnt tell me, just said i should go and look at Til because he didnt look right. Went outside to see Max eating. Little buggers! So, so happy  Thanks everyone for the positive vibes. It worked and my little man is home tucking into scrambled egg. Happy tears now

The End Of An Era

I'm only now feeling very sad about my last job. I had left a successful pre school for a new leader to take on. It never recovered from my departure. Staff are leaving, children are leaving and now it will likely close. I put a lot of hard work into that pre school and parents tell me it was the best it had been for many years (pre Ofsted). The pre school has been there for 30 years. Although the committee changed, it never recovered from the damage that the last Chair made - she is still causing upset now! So, I have a full team of staff all looking for jobs and we all want to work with each other. But I want an easy life....

Good News

This probably sounds like im bragging but I am just so relieved and happy after two years of being on committee of a pre-school. We have been through hell after joining and finding the preschool in financial difficulty, lots of requirements not quite met etc. etc., Slowly we have clawed it back, introduced 2 yr olds, lunch clubs and lots of other changes. Then we managed to swing a grant for a new building only to have it taken away again 3 weeks before work would start. Then after fighting to get it again, then our Managers and one other staff member resigning. Staff and Committee conflict. I could write a book on it! But we now have a brand new building starting n…

Anyone Else Had A Totally Rubbishy, Yukky Week?
by Guest Spiral- 25 replies

Well, my week has been horrendous..can't tell anyone about it as it's all confidential, but I'm in the centre and feel like my role is to keep each group from biting each other's heads off! These are adults I'm talking about and they are all teachers or governors! I really could do with a large drink and I'd be happy to take up smoking, drugs or anything else right now if it helped me to feel better! I know it's only words, but I'm getting tired. Don't want this to reflect upon my personal life with my children, but I'm finding it difficult and they can see mum is getting a little tearful and tetchy. Anyone else had a bad week? Spiral

My new grandson was born at 4.24am today, 8lb 15ozs and is named Eoin Robert Sutherland ( first name is pronounced Owen). I've already seen photos thanks to Blackberry, GORGEOUS baby..........and they had a police escort to the hospital, as my son was clocked doing 40 mph in a 30 ( very bad of him, but his wife has very quick labours). Off for a big cuddling session this afternoon !!

Shwe didnt ask too many questions and seemed very happy with the way we worked - said it was lovely that the children had spoken to and interacted with her so soon after she came as proved they were happy and confident now i have got home i worry that she didnt ask me lots of things or maybe i didnt tell her enough although we were all very busy with the children
