Just over a year ago i shared the devastating news that my daughter-in laws second round of IVF had ended in a miscarriage, Today is my sons birthday and we popped round. He presened me with a beautiful 12 scan picture done last week. They have been discharged from the IVF hospital and are now under the usual ante-natal care process. They have been told from now on it will be treated like a 'normal pregnancy' We are thrilled and are cautiously optimistic that it really will be third time lucky. I have no idea where they get their strength from - the preparation before the embryo can be implanted is gruelling to say the least. I wonder if any of you are reli…

I said in one of the threads that my 9000th post would be to start a thread on things we have made ourselves that we are proud of. So it could be when you were doing a demo for a child to see what you meant (and thought, crikey, that's good!), or a cake you baked or something you knitted. Some sort of handicraft, anyway. So come on, let's have a bit of show and tell!

Hi Am I the only one who watches so called 'Celebrity' programmes like 'Celebrity The Chase' and half the time I don't know who the people are lol I have not met many famous people but when I attended my brother in laws wedding in 2008 imagine the delight of my then 11 year daughter when Mr Weasley walked into the reception (although he was not in his cloak). The actor Mark Williams has a brother Nick and he was friends with my brother in law and so they invited Nick and his brother. A bit of extra excitement on an already exciting day! So who have you met? Sue

Has anyone got anything exciting on their needles at the moment? I’m just doing a boring scarf at the moment, but it’s good to have something mindless to pick up sometimes. I know there’s several folk on here who knit - so what’s your WIP?

Out of respect I haven't looked back through her account, but she did talk about this forum often, and it helped with advice for a grandchildren, it also gave her a sense of community. Thank you all for you're activity on here, All the best and much love, Anderson Family

I have just discovered that I have some money on a Waterstones gift card and it’s the summer holidays in a month when I might actually manage to read more than two pages without falling asleep. Has anyone got any recommendations? I do read pretty much anything and am usually a fairly quick reader but recently have been re-reading lots. Audiobook recommendations welcome too!

Hi Stole this idea from elsewhere so tell me something about yourself that dates without actually telling me how old you are....I will start: When I was a child the sweet shop sold 2 fruit salads for 1p but you could also get 4 mojos for 1p = guess what I went for lol We only had fizzy pop at christmas, parties or when my brother and I sat outside the pub with a pop and a bag of crisps He and I used to collect Corona bottles so we could take them back and get 1p per bottle On a Sunday I used to record the 'Top 40' on a Panasonic tape recorder where you had to hold down play and record to record and used to sulk if someone talked when I was record…
