They've Closed Our Resource Centres!

I don't know if anyone else has been affected by this, but in Lancashire there was this great resource centre funded and run on the Children's Centre/Sure Start budget that schools could buy into for a very low fee. They had loads of fantastic stuff for lots of different topics and you could borrow as much as you wanted. We got a lot of our resources in there, stuff you just can't afford to buy on a school budget! Today we found out that they had basically been shut down because of budget cuts and that we couldn't have any of our resources. So myself and the reception teacher have spent the holidays planing loads of great activities and continuous provision areas and …

My friend, who also works for me at pre-school, finally had her baby today - she was 16 days over due!!!! So she's gone from expecting to have a little one that would be the youngest in the school year, to now having THE oldest in the school year. So happy for her, but its been a long old thing - went in to be induced sunday and although they kept trying it didn't work, so finally a c-section today. Emma Joy arrived weighing 9lb 8oz!!!!

I can't wait to bloom!) Anyway, I am suffering quite a lot with morning sickness (or rather all day sickness!) and feeling pretty rough most of the time. I've tried everything I can think of with Ginger in, plain foods, dry foods, sea sickness bands etc. Even tried munching on things constantly which has probs helped the most but becoming very hard because as soon as I fancy anything I eat it and go straight off it again! I've been lucky so far that as it's been summer hols I've …

Hi! The situation is that Im getting married in October and I am inviting my grandparents brothers and sisters to the reception, at their request - but I do see them frequently as family is quite close. I know already that some of these people are coming to church to see the ceremony, which is great, and they know that because we have a large family it is totally undoable to invite them to join us for the meal afterwards. All fine and good. But, my grandparents have aked me to put a note into the evening invites for family to say that they are welcome at church - agin this is fine and Im happy for them to share the ceremony, but I've done the invites now (not s…

hi i wonder if anyone can help me - we have a member of staff who has been on long term sick since march and is looking to come back to work in september on light duties only - which means she will not be able to pick up anything, put awya or set up etc - which means that she will be able to do very little in the session , so we will have to have another member of staff in to do her work - do we have to take her back or can we ask that she returns only when fit to carry out the job as per her job description? many thanks x
