Did anyone else go? We had a lovely time watching all the balloons take off in the evening, and the carrot for my other half was being able to watch the red arrows display. A couple of photos...

Hi Some of you might remember that just over a year ago our much loved springer spaniel died very suddenly - he was 13 and had been with us since he was barely a year old. The loss hit the family hard but especially my other half who was really sad The last 15 months without a dog have been strange to say the least and now we feel the time is right to have another dog, not a replacement of course and for that reason we are not having another springer spaniel. We are going to be welcoming a new puppy, a little Westie (hence my new avatar) and he or maybe she will be joining us in March. Soooo I thought you clever lot could come up with some name suggestions a…

Today is just another day - to me they're all the same I have the worst of genes you see, I bear the "Staffy" shame. The shame is in our numbers, there's thousands with no home. Thousands just like me you'll find, in kennels all alone. My mum was "just a Staffy", my father - well who knows? Mum, too, became unwanted, as the last puppy goes. And then begins the process, of money-making deals A life of "moving on" unfolds, who cares how the Staffy feels? If you have the cash to hand, the Staffy pup is yours But that pup is getting bigger now, just look at those big paws. You brought me for your image, thought I'd make you look more tough But you'…

This months competition is a bunch of anagrams. If you rearrange the letters you will discover some childrens television programmes. This may well reveal our ages, since there are programs from the 50's to the present day. When you think you have the answers, send them to me via a private message. Since I have my son coming to stay at the end of the month/beginning of August I'll give you till 6th August to submit your answers. As always there will be a cheque for £20 and a Fsf goody for the winner, with the runner up receiving a Fsf goody too. If I receive 10 entries or more, I will put all the names in a hat and the lucky winner will get a Fsf notepad. Good…

Anyone see any last night. We caught sight of a few around 11-1am as it was very clear here then. You've still time tonight to see them if you have clear sky, and possibly over the next few days.

Anyone Else's Screen Gone Funny?

Since last night, whenever I log on to the forum the hotlinks and the 'day/time' and 'logged in' bubbles have kind of overlapped (top left hand corner of the screen under the fsf logo). There's also a red x with the words 'site message' and 'message will auto close in 2 seconds' which it doesn't,and there's no message either! I can still access the forum but I can't get at the hotlink for 'view unread messages' - which I use all the time I've tried logging out and in again, restarting my browser (firefox) and even my pc. Anyone else have this problem or any ideas what it could be? Its very frustrating not being able to get straight to the unread posts! Lucyhobbit

As an school governor I'm 'dutifully' reviewing some of the curriculum policies and the subject leaders end of year summaries, and while I can work out most of the acronyms 'ARE' has me stumped. It's used in the sentence ' 38% of children are below ARE in writing at the start of reception'. Any and all help and/or enlightenment gratefully received! Thank you Karrie
