Hi All, Just wanted to let everyone know about a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the outdoors with your kids over the summer!! I've been to Hill End this week (near Eynsham) for activities with my kids (aged 8 and 10) and it has been fantastic! They are repeating the activities on 17-20th August but would like a few more bookings... so I thought that I'd share the word! So far we have:- orienteering, creepy crawly crafts, spider hunting, fruit kebabs on the camp fire, ladybird hunting, blindfolded sensory trail, tomorrow is pond dipping and crafts. It is absolutely brilliant, so free being outside letting the children play, run and explore and suit…

Hi guys Thought I would ask you experts out there for a little help with regards to organisig phonics groups. In September i will be having a class of 26 reception chn with one full time Nursery nurse. 13 of these chn will be starting phase 2 phonics, while the others still on phase 1. I am thinking of dividing the 13 phase two chn into 2 groups and also dividing the phase 1 chidren into 2 groups aswell, just so there is about 6 children in each of the 4 groups. But I am now realising that phonics will take up most of the morning. While one adult does a phon…

Hello all. An update for you: Well, after lots of thought I have taken it a little further and informed an organisation of my situation. Although I don't think anything can be done and sadly they have got away with it but now some of the parents and villagers know. I took some good advice from one of you lovely people and sent goodbye cards to the children - including a little note for the parents and an email address if they wanted to contact me. Which some did and grateful they were to know I was well as committee had told them I wasn't coming back due to illness. Well, up until the end of term and last week, the setting is in shambles and no one knows wh…

Ok, I have a Dyson upright with HEPA filter and all singing all dancing and it's a load of rubbish. It take 6 or 7 passes to pick up a strand of cotton on the carpet and then I pick it up myself. It wont pick up a cornflake on the lino and hairs on the carpet in the bedroom are....... well let's just say it's rubbish. So. It was a much vaunted excellent machine that I shelled out quite a bit for, 5 years ago or so, and the time has come to kick it out. It's a lemon, it always has been a lemon and always will be and I HATE it. I wonder if any of you lovely people can advise me on what you have and give it marks out of ten. I know that's not always the best way a…
