My washing line is full of playgroup stuff. Dressing up clothes, dolls clothes, the parachute other random bits and pieces. It looks lovely and colourful and I know the neighbours will be looking on in wonder, especially at the dolls clothes, which are mostly baby clothes!!

Hi Have just found out that I need to think of a charity to name my new F2 class after. It needs to be appropriate to the children, but the 2 most local and relevant ones have gone. Have though of (and found when googling!) I CAN (the children's communication charity) - lots of ideas for creative work for a display about the charity and opps for using photos in displays; WSPA (the world society for the protection of animals) - love animals and so do most children, this charity covers the whole spectrum of wild animals too; or 'Tiggywinkles' - its an animal hospital, not near us, but I love the idea of links to Beatrix Potter books and how it supports British wildl…

Staff Lunches

Hi, Just need some advice and thought this was the best place to come. How long do you give your staff for lunch and do they sit with the children. we are a pack away setting in a village hall, so the only space available for staff to eat lunch is the kitchen or outside unless they sit with the children. All staff are told to take 20 mins.... but what do other settings do? I have been told staff are not suppose to sit with the children as this isnt classed as a break.. any thoughts?

I am cetain that this is the best place to seek advice on this one, its not something I have come accross before and would really value the views of others. This happen on Friday and I am trying to come up with a "damage limitation" way of dealing with this. The two boys are both 4 and the girl is 3, so the boys will be at school in September but all three will be still here over the summer holidays. The following is taken from the email that the parent of the girl has sent to me "Hi xxxx I felt that it would be good to put today’s events into writing, it is a shame it has fallen on a Friday as it would have been nice to chat further. I know xxx(deput…

Well today we finished for our summer break, got lots of lovely pressies and some nice thankyous. Just as I start to relax and wonder what I shall do to fill my time, into my head pops the neverending 'to do list' * SEF * Registration doc * Funding forms * new labels *Risk assesment e.t.c., e.t.c. and so it goes on. So what does everyone else have planned for their summer break (haha).

I don't want the job back but I do want them given a good thrashing. But what would the outcome be if I got a solicitor involved?

Our new competition is a tennis quiz, which I have made so easy everyone should be able to have a go! Send me a private message (pm) with your answers - please don't post answers here. As always the winner will receive a cheque for £20 and a Fsf goody, the runner up will also receive one of our goodies. If there is a tie for winner and/or runner up, names will be picked at random to determine who gets the prize. Additionally there is some sort of link (apart from tennis!) between the answers. If you pm me to let me know what the hidden link is, your name will be put into a random draw to win a notepad and pen. (You don't need to enter the quiz to be eligible for t…
