**apologies for the long post but it has been good to write it down and helped me calm down** My daughter is a severe asthmatic. She has been hospitalised twice in the last 6 weeks for 3 and 4 days. She is so severe that at her last review with her chest constultant it was suggested that there were further investigations to check for cystic fibrosis. She has had an allergy blood test (strong for dust mite), CT scan (no sign of bronchiectasis which is a good sign) and has the sweat test for CF in 2 weeks. The respiratory nurse came to our house yesterday and feels the following the results of the first 2 tests CF is less likely (phew)and her condition will be class…

I'm probably being very dumb here but ... I often post in a thread and like to read the responses, but by the time I come back to the board the thread has got 'lost' somewhere behind all the new posts. Is there a way to see all my previous postings in chronological order? I bet there is and it's really simple! Also while on the general ICT topic, I frequently download resources/policies, etc. from here, and I've always just assumed that they are virus checked when they are uploaded to the site. Can someone reassure me that this is right?

Just to update you all. My chemotherapy finished a few weeks ago. It has worked so well that the cancer no longer shows up on any scans! I'm going to have radiography to knock out any residual cancer cells but no surgery needed. I can't tell you how pleased I am. Alwyn

Just venting really on what was going to be a lovely Sunday morning until the phone rang ...... I know that in our society there are people who for whatever reason carry out acts of mindless vandalism/unprovoked physical attacks on innocent people etc etc and often get cross when I read /hear of such incidents but I am sitting here in danger of my blood boiling over I guess the extent of my anger is due in part to the fact that it is my son who has been injured, my son lying in great western eye hospital anaesthetised and having glass removed from his eyes .. and why.. because whilst we were asleep in our beds he was out answering a 999 call in London, he was on…

Morning all. Just thought I'd scribble a quickie on here. Today I am off to do my TENTH race for life (in aid of cancer research) and it just struck me how very little time it is to give up, to raise money for such an important cause. I also realise as I do every year now, that it shouldn't have taken the death of my Mum to spur me into action on behalf of cancer research. Today I am off to Heathrow to send my son off to his new life.......and new wife.......in America.
