Hi everyone This is a really mundane question but our local Tesco has stopped selling their own brand of Tuc crackers, Cheddars etc. The branded ones cost over £1 a packet and as they are sometimes broken when we open them, this works out pretty expensive. Does anyone have any suggestions for cheaper alternative to non-sugary snacks or know where we can buy 'own brand' crackers? We do use cream crackers, bread sticks and Crackerbread but could do with some more ideas Thanks Beehive

Hi, I am trying to organise a new parents meeting for in a couple of weeks time. I am Reception Teacher in a Foundation unit, so new nursery parents and any new to reception will be invited along to an hour long meeting in the school hall. This is my first year at the school and in previous years parents have been invited along to listen to a great number of people saying a bit about uniforms, typical day, headteachers welcome etc etc. This is fine but it all seemed a bit formal as the parents as a whole group just sit their and look at all members of staff in a great big line and listen as one after another get up in turn and talk about their bit. This year I fanc…

Hi I just wondered if someone could give me some advice on how to handle a situation, i have a new memeber of staff who is working her 3 month probabtion, but she is very upset about a member of staff who has been there for years who keeps telling her what to do and if the new member of staff is talking to a parent the other one butts in..... the new member of staff is very upset about this. I know i need to speak to the long term member of staff but i need to do it diplomatically so as not to upset her and to ensure that they can work in partnership!!! just not sure how to word it!!!!! I wondered if anyone else had dealt with anything like this?

Hi all - not really sure why I'm posting this......I suppose, just because I know you will understand........ We have a lovely hometime routine........at 11:50 the children sit in a story circle listen to a story, sing songs, talk about the morning etc. - we have by this time unlocked our outside door for parents - but parents wait in corridor and then at 12 we open the door and the children are called one by one to meet their parents or whoever picks them up........this system works really well for us and most importantly it is a safe way for the children to leave........ Today at 11:55 the door to our pre-school room opened and there was a man who we had never s…
