Ok, it's the half term holiday. I can tell because I'm feeling rubbish! Tonsillitis, and general malaise and don't feel like doing anything! Zebedee has taken a few days off work so we can do things in the garden and go for walks, but all he's ending up doing is making me cups of tea and giving sympathy - which is nice, but ..... SIGH

My work/life balance is so out of kilter that this holiday (whilst sporadically playing with my own children and trying to get them to help) I have: -Changed the sheets for the first time in weeks -Done the hand washing that has been in the bottom of the laundry basket since October -Done the ironing for the first time in months including the tablecloth and napkins from Christmas day -Sorted through my children's drawers and found things that are 2 years too small for them -Wrestled with a mountain of recycling and stuff for the charity shop -Sorted through the basket of papers/school letters that has built up since Christmas …

Can I help you? COSTELLO: Thanks I'm setting up an office in my den and I'm thinking about buying a computer. ABBOTT: Mac? COSTELLO: No, the name's Lou. ABBOTT: Your computer? COSTELLO: I don't own a computer. I want …

Am feeling very sad today, after conversation with my head. Background - I'm the coordinator and nursery class teacher at my school. Our EYFS dept has always been split due to building constraints with my nursery and 1 F2 class together by our outdoor area and the other F2 class at the opposite end of school. Following our OfSted inspection last Feb we have managed to get a new (albeit) mobile classroom built to adjoin our outdoor area (which has actually got us more outdoor space too - added bonus!!). This is now going to be my room for the nursery children and the 2 F2 classes are going to work as 1 in the 2 adjoining rooms. Brilliant scenario as far as we are al…

Well it's good to actually be awake today. It's been 10 days now since my first dose of chemo and until yesterday I've pretty much slept all the time. Today was the one appointment with any fun to it. I've been to see the 'wig lady' I've got one with no grey in it! feels fantastic. Thanks everyone for all your good wishes Al
