Sight I hate - the sparkle of glitter all over my carpet even though I have hoovered!! Sight I love - the online shopping arriving which means I don't have to go out and shop with hundreds of others!! Sound I hate - family members saying - "did you get ........... crackers, cranberry sauce etc.," Sound I love - Midnight mass, the start of Christmas.

I have a dbs (obtained Oct 2015) which is registered with the update service - however when i applied to do some voluntary work and I explained this i was told "we would do our own bs check anyway" so what is the point of this update service when nobody uses it? just seems so pointless to me

The sound of small children walking past my house to get to the local school at 8.40 this morning as I lay in bed on the first day of 3 weeks off. Can't beat it!

I finished working at my pre-school in the summer after completing over 10 years service there. I no longer wish to work in childcare I want to enter the world of admin; within education would be good but it doesn't have to be. How do I 'sell' the skills of being a pre-school manager to those who have no clue about what the job takes?! Anyone I've ever spoken to who's not been involved in Early Years has always given the impression that it's a 'nothing' kind of role responses of "ahh that must be so lovely, playing with the little ones" (if only they knew!) Also on application forms it always asks for the last employers name - would you give the name of your cha…

Time to start getting out and re-reading some of my favourite Christmas books/scenes. Might start with The Children of Green Knowe. I don't read them all every year (I'd probably have to start in June! ) but I do have some books which just are Christmas. Does anyone else do the same? And apologies if I asked the same thing last year!!

We had some funny photos today with the children - we got one of those photo booth packs and the children really took to it. Some great shots, we will be putting them onto the digital frame to play while the parents are in next week, hope they think they're as funny as we do!
