If you want a wonderful weekend away with group of people, either family of friends then i highly recommend the National Trust cottage at Stourhead in Wiltshire. It absolutely fab with super accomadation..comfy beds, lovely well equipped kitchen, open fire, modern bathroom, dining room in beautiful surroundings. Walks and garden really good as well as farm shop, pub, cafe and gift shop all near by. Just had a girlie weekend away with 6 others and had a really relaxing time. Redbase

Odd request but.... We are in the planning stages of our own building and have been asked by the architects to contact the neighbours of the proposed site, out of courtesy, explaining what we are going to do. Has anyone done this before? Not sure how to start the letter! All ideas greatfully received! ppp

Hi, I am off for my annual trip away without husbands, children or learning journeys with my oldest friends, we have known each other since our first day at Primary School! As we are now spread all over the country and therefore only meet once or twice a year these weekends on the second weekend of the half term are very important to us. We obviously want to eat well, drimk well and shop giving us plenty of time to catch up but has anyone any ideas of a must do for us girls ?? We are staying in a hotel very close to the train station and will be carless Any ideas? Thanks Sharon

I have been to the first partnership meeting between the school, ourselves (pre school) children's centre and schools after school. There is quite a lot of paperwork that this entails, but thus far managable. I have just finished a meeting with the school caters and we will be able to have our lunches in the school hall, so children will be able to have a hot lunch or bring a pack lunch and eat this alongside reception children. We have had a lady visit…

Don't know if you've all seen this but there's a new campaign (launched today) to back the setting up of a tax on financial transactions which would be used to alleviate third world debts, help with addressing climate change issues and provide funds to help out with future credit crunch type situations. Bill Nighy stars in a video which is good fun. As an impartial FSF admin sort of person I am of course not suggesting that I think it's a good idea or anything. I'm just drawing your attention to its existence... You can find it here.

we are about to interview for a new member of staff (hopefully) and having looked at the questions we last used we feel that they are out of date to what is required from the role of assistant practitioner nowadays. could anyone give me some ideas of questions they have asked that proved really useful / informative? many thanks x
