This is it., my 5000th post. JacquieL alerted me that my next post, this one, would be such a milestone. When I joined I had recently become play leader of the loveliest playgroup. Staff were ok although not exactly a team, and we had a good healthy waiting list. This forum and all the wonderful people on it came to my aid over and over, as they continue to do for everyone who asks a question, pleads for help or merely …

Hubby knew all this but he didnt tell me till this morning that he'd got tickets. Rugby fans will particulary understand my absolute glee. But just think about the one thing you've always wanted, a dream to do something, or go somewhere, or to see someone. Now imagine its going to happen!! I cant sto…

To enter the competition all you need to do is upload your photo (one entry only per member please!) of a snowman into the gallery. All photos should be taken during this month so don't go digging in the archives. Also, please only put in photos that you, your family or your setting have made and make sure you get permission if the photo was taken by someone else. If you miraculously miss the snow entirely throughout the whole month then you may be creative and make another form of snowman, such as out of …

I sometimes wonder where common sense went and then I came across this. Apologies if you've seen it before. R.I.P. Common Sense Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was, as his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as knowing when to come in out of the rain, why the early bird gets the worm, life isn’t always fair, and maybe it was my fault. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don’t spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not children…
