After seeing the advert for The Gruffalo on Christmas Day, I was wondering if anyone has planned to watch it, even if there own children are all grown up

Pretty certain you celebrate your birthday this week although you've obviously gone private on that one----and I too do that! So, assuming I am remembering correctly, hope it was a good one and if I'm wrong----ooops!

It's quiet in nursery today as we knew it would be so we arranged for our lovely cook to make a cooked breakfast for everyone, children included and the whole nursery has just sat down together to eat it, at the end, with a lot of shushing my Deputy gave me a thank you card that all of the girls have signed and said "thanks for being such a great boss and for all of your support over the last year", inside was a voucher for Next for quite a substantial amount. How lovely and of course I cried!! Onwards and upwards to 2010! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you all

Hi , Can anyone help me to find a suitable site for my daughter. she has just qualified as tacher and is loking for someone to share holidays with. She loves sking/boarding but as she has just moved to the North East area of the country she doesn't know many people. She is so busy with her lesson plans and as an NQT doesn't have much time for socialising and it is difficult to make new teacher friends who she can share her leasure time with. She loves walking and is very sporty also. thanks so much. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and a well deserved rest!! Susnhine

Hi everyone - I haven't been around much recently, not sure why but I haven't had much to say (for once!) but that is probably all about to change... A couple of weeks ago, I accepted the job of "Teaching Assistant to a statemented child" for one of my key children who is going to be starting primary school in January. It all happened so fast - over the last few weeks. But I've been into school to meet the head and the class teacher, and then two more visits with the child and all the other children in the class. I'm really excited about it, but at the same time very nervous.

I don't know whether to feel ashamed, or to give myself a hearty round of applause.......you decide! Yesterday,I was in WHSmiths, buying various bits and bobs.....waited patiently in the queue and when i got there, the girl just said, 'wanna bag?' so i said no thanks, i have one.She then bblipped my goods, without another word, not even to take my debit card, so i did that bit myself, waited till it said 'remove card', etc.still no word from assistant, because the whole way through, she had been scribbling 'merry christmas' in bubble writing on a piece of paper. She didn't even look up to give me my goods, or to say thankyou. Now, here's the bit, and I honestly don't know w…

Just wondering if anyone out there has any knowledge of dentistry? I am more than a little concerned about my youngest son Last Sunday he woke with a 'sore face' and one side of his face was clearly swollen, no toothache but clearly something not right. The swelling increased quite dramatically and my other half took him to A and E. The doctor there told him he had 'an infection in your face' and prescribed antibiotics and painkillers, he also said it would get worse before it got better and that it wasn't related to his teeth - then added when the swelling had gone down it might be an idea to see a dentist. Since Sunday he has barely eaten, can just open his mo…
