Help.......................

I have found out today that I have an interview in September. Part of the interview is to give a 7 minute presentation/speech i.e. without visual, aids on the following; 'What do you see as the most important elements of effective early intervention work with children?’ The job itself is with a new children’s multi agency service targeted on vulnerable children and families, by taking a whole family approach, it will focus on supporting vulnerable children and families resolve their difficulties at an earlier stage before they become entrenched and require specialist services. I do have some ideas but if any of you lovely people can give some ideas too …

Just got these in an email and thought they were quite funny! My parents have always been there for me, ever since I was about 7. " David Beckham "I would not be bothered if we lost every game as long as we won the league." Mark Viduka "Alex Ferguson is the best manager I've ever had at this level. Well, he's the only manager I've actually had at this level. But he's the best manager I've ever had." David Beckham "If you don't believe you can win, there is no point in getting out of bed at the end of the day." Neville Southall "I've had 14 bookings this season - 8 of which were my fault, but 7 of which were disputable." Paul Gascoigne "I've…

So I just thought I'd pop on and see what's happening. This wasn't such a good idea, as everything's taking ages to load! There's not a lot happening her is Largs really! We've been on lots of walks by the sea anf that's about it really. I've managed to be bitten about 5 million times by who knows what!! I've only really got tomorrow left here, as Tuesday will be spend cleaning the flat and packing and Wednesday travelling home. I think you should all know that I won a hot dog sweet on one of those 2p machines in the arcade - it was probably the proudest moment of the week. Apart from maybe getting 2 ice cream cones cause the lady broke the bottom off the first on…

Travel Sickness
by Guest- 18 replies

My 11 year old son sometimes suffers from travel sickness but usually only on long journeys. For some reason, on day trips out so far this holiday he has been suffering more regularly and more severly. It has never been a serious problem before but now I feel that he needs something to ease the situation as it is quite distressing for him. Just wondering what other people use/have used and how effective it is. I have heard about acupunture bands and wondered if these are any good or if the medicines over the counter at chemists would be a better option. Thanks Sally

Right, we now have our heat winners decided, so this is the final poll to vote for your overall winner of the limerick competition. The winner will get a cheque for £20 and a choice of one of our FSF goodies. We also have a book left over from last months prizes (I'll have to check which one it is!) for a runner up. As before, you just need to click on the names in the poll to see each entry. Voting will finish on Wednesday. Happy voting again!

Art Exhibition
by Guest- 18 replies

Just got to tell you about the great night we had last night; we held an Art Exhibition. We are part of a big organisation, but with only 6 nurseries. Our charity of the year is Help the Hospices. Quite a while ago I had an idea of organising an art exhibition but never really followed it through anyway thought it would be an ideal way to raise money for the charity. We bought square shaped canvases, one for each child, who were then encouraged to paint whatever they wanted (with strict instructions to the baby room that it was not to be hands and feet; I wanted masterpieces!!), the older ones told us what they were painting. We also bought 5 larger canvases and each …

Anyone Got Sky Broadband?
by Guest- 16 replies

This is a totally random request but I have been looking at saving some money and putting phone, internet and tv into one sky package. It will save me about £30+ a month (and we'll get sky tv which we dont have now) but a little voice inside my head is saying 'no such thing as a free lunch'. So I'm just wondering what sort of service sky offers. Couldnt bear the thought of not being able to get online!! Sally
